When I got up this morning, Greg had JB in the crate. Greg said that he hadn't eaten yet, so I opened up the crate and JB ever so slowly walked out, with his head hanging again. I picked him up to put him in my lap and he started screaching again in pain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:( He settled into my lap finally and laid there really still for about 45 minutes. I finally had to get in the shower for work, and picked him up and put him back in the crate and he didn't cry this time. When I got out of the shower, I let him out the crate to go out to potty, and he seemed better. This is exactly what he did before he had the back surgery. I pray that he'll be ok. I'm going to call the vet in a little bit.

Thanks Melissa...I wouldn't be as worried, but he hasn't displayed this pain since we took him in for surgery last week. He has acted in pain from the surgery, but this is different...like before when his back was hurting.

We've done everything that the surgeon said to do for aftercare...I just hope he's ok.:(

I'm sending ((((((hugs))))) and good vibes along your way, too... Maybe he just has an "off" day after the surgery (and the male in him with a low level of pain endearment shows through ;) .. Keep your head and your spirit up, I'll pray that he will be fine!

The vet said that he should no longer be holding his head like that!!!:( I'm hoping that he'll be ok. Wouldn't it be horrible if we went though all of this and he still has to be pts??:(

I'm worried because the vet had to close a little sooner because of bleeding. What if he didn't get all of the disk material out??:(

He's not schedule to see his vet until Monday when they'll check his incision. He won't see the surgeon in Portland again. I'm waiting until my lunch hour to call the vet. It's hard to make those kinds of phone calls when I'm at work because I have patients coming in and out.

Oh dena, you must be so worried. I don't know what to say, other than that we are thinking of you and little JB. I really hope this is just a glitch.

Dena, could it be that picking him up is aggravating his back?

Poor little guy, I hope everything is okay.

I too hope this isn't a setback. I would imagine he hurts and I hope that is all it is. Anyway Dena hugs to you and let us know anything. I am hoping it is just a bad morning. I worry about him too. Come on little JB you can do it.

It could be hurting him, but I have to pick him up to take him out to potty.:( We have a step and he can't go down any steps. It hasn't hurt him the past few days...it just started this am.
