I have been looking for the last few days for a couple different active dog forums and I can't seem to find any that are as active or as nearly active as this one is...

Has everyone else found this to be true?

Surprising that I can't find a place where there are more than a couple hundred people talking and asking about their pets.

Is another place that I go to and its very active
Pet Talk is my favorite, I have not found another forum quite like it. The people there are generally not quick to judge. They are very nice and very helpful. There are maybe 1-2 people that I don't like and they aren't even active.

This place is nice too, and I am a member of other forums that I frequent, but there seems to be more hostility here and that is why I don't post much.

Lol..I've never quite liked a forum like I do this one. I am a member of Global Paw, and was attacked,... that discouraged me, and eventually my activity slowly decreased. Now I only visit there maybe once a week, if that.

Pet Talk has some really nice people, but I get a bit frustrated with teh overall lack of dog training knowledge.

I was a member of the ProDog forum,.. it was okay there. I enjoyed the members, but unfortunately, the mod was horrible and biased.

www.idog.com is another forum. It used to be a HUGE forum, but since the layout has changed and a biiig fight happened on the board(several members left, banned, etc) things haven't been quite the same.

I hear ya! I tend to pick my places... even here has a some what disportionate amount of newbs... which I can deal with. But the outright SPO (stupid pet owner) levels out there are frightening!

To be honest, I only frequent here. I find that select people can be 'blunt', but I would prefer that to sugar-coating or not being honest. Also, the people here are like family :).

Tessa, why did you get attacked  on the other forum?
I didn't think you were capable of doing something wrong! LOL, jk.

I got a lot a battering in this forum when I was new here. Blunt or polite I assure you that you will learn a lot here. Most of the regulars here are true dog lovers and responsible owners. Just my two cents.

I come here and to solidstaffs.co.uk.
I am here mostly as it is a very active board with lots of nice people and useful information.
Solidstaffs i visit b/c it is devoted to the breed that i have.
It is also a very warm and friendly site :)

:/ I disagree. PT is way more tight-knit. People actually hang out in real life from the boards, have their dogs play together, etc. I can only think of a few members who have come off as total newbs to dogs & the vast majority of members rescue, foster, and/or buy dogs from reputable breeders (I've seen the opposite of this in some areas in Chazhound). I can't think of anyone on PT that is close-minded. There are tons of really nice & educated people, they just don't force their opinions or flaunt them. I guess we all have different perceptions, though. I've been a member of PT for 2+ years, and I've met a few members in my area several times, in general they're super nice & can always offer great advice and support.

Chazhound is REALLY great for information, there is about 10x more members here, so there is definitely a wealth of info for anyone. There does seem to be way more drama here, maybe because of the huge number of members? I prefer smaller, closer forums, but Chaz is awesome for sharing views & getting all sorts of advice.

i like it here....i just think since there are soooooo many people you cant really get to know someone like you would like too. www.dogforums.com is a great place ...... there are around 120 active members and don't be fooled by the bland colors of the home page.....it is a great place....with great people....there has only been 1 person banned since it started back in March.
