Is anyone else planning on getting a puppy in the 2012?

Of my own? Probably not. But there is a chance of my parents getting one.

I also may or may not have another foster. Depends on how quickly the current one finds a home, and whether a dog comes up that needs fostering.

But so far...2008 I got Gavroche. 2009 I fostered Ranchero. 2010 I got Logan. 2011 I'm fostering Tango. So..... :rofl1:

I'm really, really, REALLY hoping it'll work out for this spring, in which case I'll be bringing home another Aussie. Hopefully another blue merle male, but we'll see how the personalities come out. But it's all still very much up in the air.

There is now a "threat" of a brindle Mexidog from Grace as well... :yikes:
You need a Cricket :)

As long as Josh and I can get into a place that will allow for another dog the plan is to hopefully get an Ibizan Hound puppy from a certain upcoming litter I've got my eye on. It's planned for either late 2012 or early 2013

I'm not planning on a puppy, but I will likely adopt a a dog within the new one or two years. There is a mini poodle boy on petfinder that I want so badly, but my work and school schedules are not conducive to pet ownership :(.

Nope. I've got a hard and fast rule of no puppy to mix with the elderlies. I dearly hope I'm not saying good bye to either one of them in the coming year.

Foster... I'd love to! :)

Own, no thank you!

I'd like to add. but I have to convince the husband that a 3rd dog would actually be beneficial to our old guy.

Well we're getting on in 2 days but thats not 2012.

For me? No, I have my hands full with my two next year and have big plans for them so I'm just going to concentrate on them for a couple more years atleast. Maybe in about 2014 or 2015 I'll be ready.

Been at darts. Just got back. Looks like there will be loads of puppies and new dogs this coming year. Can't wait to enjoy all the pictures.

Not a chance!! In fact after Aura I'm not sure I ever want a puppy again! Sometimes she reminds me of Laurs descriptions of Mia as a puppy so no thank you. Please no puppies for 2012!

I'm getting a puppy but only vicariously....through you guys. LOL. I love puppies, but I think I'm getting too old to have the patience for the work involved with a puppy. Plus, I don't want a dog to out live me and the odds are so much greater now. My two Chi's are seniors and two dogs are plenty for me...very comfortable with these two...easy. As adults, they still act like puppies sometimes...very playful and cute without the destructiveness and craziness. So, IF I ever get another dog at all when these guys are gone, it would be an adult probably. I do get puppyitis from time to time, but I think I'd best live through other people with their puppies. I can't wait for pictures and for your happiness and thrill of getting new pups.

I'm glad to hear of those who are ready and getting pups, so the rest of us can enjoy puppies through you :) I like puppies but I prefer dogs...it's just that getting a puppy increases the chances of getting the type of dog I like best ;)

Honestly the only way I'd get a pup before about 2014 would be if Mira's other owner and I decided to breed her, and a pup fit me perfectly. Otherwise I'm holding out til my dogs are well into their careers, taking into account the 2-year lead time between acquiring a pup and having a dog ready for performance.

Doubtful, hopefully moving next year to another state and I still have two veritable puppies that have so much to offer.
Back to the PNW?? :)

Big old NO on the puppy thing! But I do want to foster a husky butt after Spaz goes to his forever home. Has to be an easygoing dude, which shouldn't be hard to come by. It would be through Arctic Rescue.

I've never had a puppy before, so there will be much hilarity ensuing, I'm sure. o_O All of my dogs have been about 18 months when they come home.
