We recently found and adopted this abandoned puppy, and we need a name for her! She will be a big dog. She has massive feet and legs, and we figure she is going to have a bulmastiff build, but not quite that big. SHe is going to live at our resort and be the guard dog over the summer. No, not the aggresive ferocious dangerous type, but just a precence that keeps robbers away. You see we've been having this bad break in problem in our area. Our resort is closed in the summer, and only our hard-of-hearing caretaker will be here. Anyway, she is a light brown color with a darker muzzle and mastiff shaped ears. She is a real sweetheart, actually.

Remember: BIG! Just a bunch of names that sound neat, are fitting for a watch/guard dog, and not people names. Rough and tough! Please don't post links to dog name sites, I've been checking those for hours. :yikes:

Also, it's been a while since I raised a puppy, how much should we feed her? She is 6-8 weeks old. (Too young to be away from her mom, I know. But this is the age they usually get abandoned around here.)

Erm well I've always been found of the name Kora and plan to name my first dog of my own that.

I've always named my dogs as a person though. Never really named them as a guard dog or a work dog or what have you.

Nah, she's not going to be tied out on a chain all her life. She gets free roam of all the grounds, the companionship of Chewy, my dog half of the year, and of our dog loving caretaker the other half. We won't train her to be mean. Actually I don't think we could if we tried, she is too sweet. But the locals are dog shy, and if you have a big dog and they get the idea in their heads that it's mean, they are wary. They are even wary of Chewy, but she isn't that big, and not at all mean.

She'll be treated as a family member and have all the 'perks' that Chewy has, but she'll be a full time watch dog whereas Chewy is just a part time one. :D

I can so picture that: This massive dog galloping at a person that is walking in the gate, barking and being all scary, then me shouting "cut it out Wigglis!" Oh yeah, I can so see that. Right now I've been calling her Wiggles and Wrinkles, but I can't see that as a permanent name. :lol-sign:

Anyway, I managed to get some halfway decent pictures of her:
She likes shoes...

Here she is a second before pouncing into my lap...
