Not.

So my sister went out to the barn, and there lays this little, INSANELY SKINNY, orange girl:

Amanda brought her in and got her some food and I tried to snap a picture, but it was hard because she just wants to snuggle.

Luckily, we work with a group who spays/neuters stray/feral cats and often fosters the ones who need it, so I've already sent a message to a gal from the group to see who I need to contact about getting her a foster home. We just can't do it here; the dogs are not good with cats.

I hope so too. She's overwhelmed when the dogs are all in the house, but I can't keep my dogs outside. We've got her in a crate and she's all snuggled down. It'll have to do until I can get her into a foster home.

Well. After looking at this cats bad leg, I've learned that girl-cat is actually a boy-cat and that my 25 year old sister who plans on having babies can't tell the difference between nuts and no nuts.

Okay, I need to defend myself! LOL To be fair, he was curled up in a tight ball in the barn and I didn't know if he was feral or friendly but stuck my hand down there anyway... picked him up, he wasn't sure what to do, took a quick peek under the tail, took him to the house for something to eat and never thought a thing of it again.

... he's very feminine, OKAY?!

We had a big orange cat, Gulliver (he'd traveled a lot before he got to us, flew into Buchanan Airfield where my dad was the airport engineer on a plane loaded with pot from Acapulco) and we used to sing that song to him, lol.

That boy looks a lot like Gully :)

Don't feel bad, I thought the stray I used to feed was a male until she popped out a litter of kittens one day :p

We are suckers for orange cats here. Big time vibes for fast healing, good weight gain, and an awesome future home.

I'm picking up an orange dumpster kitty this weekend. I hope your handsome orange kitty finds the home he deserves, too. <3

He's off to the vet who helps with the speutering today. They'll look him over and if a foster home can't be found he'll come back here and be fostered in one of the cat friendly rooms of the house. Which we are short of, but actually do have.

He's sitting in a crate with Psyche, Rhyme and Crash all around him purring up a storm. He isn't scared of dogs.

OMigosh, you make me want him. I want a big, lovey dovey, sweet, no-fear male orange kitty...and I want his name to be Butters. $(*%*#$ Too bad we have way too many cats as is.

Those orange and white boys are the BEST! They snuggle, they tolerate, they purr---they're great. I've often wondered if their dispositions are linked to their color.

That cat is feral? He sure doesn't act it! How kind of you to make room for him when it's a problem for you. :hail: Good luck in finding him a home.

I've wondered the same thing. Fila dispositions tend to be, and they're almost cats, lol.

The only cat I've ever had more determinedly friendly than Gulliver was the giant blue I had, Gonzo.

The orange and white cats we've had have been totally different from the orange ones . . . NOT friendly with strangers at all, and a little quixotic with family.

This boy looks totally charming :) Careful, Shay, or you won't be able to let him go!
