I met these guys last April.. (Or girls.. none of the pictures I took gave me a good look and I don't remember.)

Just wondering if you could tell me approximately how many hands high they are? The topmost bar of the fence is at the height of my nose, and I'm about 6' tall. The darker dapple grey with the eyeliner's head was bigger than--and much heavier than--my torso. He was super friendly.. almost like a dog, came right up to the fence to be petted and loved on and listen to me talking. I was charmed by him..

Also, any guesses on the darker one's breed or mix? It stumped me as I've never seen a horse that is so clearly a draft breed that looks like that. The other one, I would hazard a guess, has some Percheron in him/her.

It's really hard to guess height from pictures. I'd guess from your description the fence was probably 5'6"? So if their withers were even with the fence, they would be 16.2hh. Since they appear to be a bit higher, I'd guess close to 17 hands.

The pink around the eye made me think appy cross at first, although it also looks like the gray has some weird pink spots around its mouth as well, so maybe it is some sort of skin problem? Both really just look like your generic draft crosses. Do you know anything about them? There are a LOT of draft/stock horse (paint, QH or Appy) crosses floating around because of the Premarin farms. They use the draft mares, for maximum urine output, and often stock horse stallions, for easy to deal with temperment. If I had to take a completely out of the blue guess, I'd say both are PMU rescues. Now go on and tell me they are someone's prize breeding stock and get me in trouble;).
