Well we bring home Belle tomorrow :D

Is there anything in particular we can do to make her feel more comfortable when joining a new home? or to put her at ease?

Taking a whole bunch of pictures and posting them promptly on Chaz is quite soothing to most dogs. :D

I know our foster dog LOVES his crate. When he was scared (the first couple days) he would run to his kennel.
Perhaps keep the kennel door open with some cozy blankies and soft toys. That way, if she wants a 'break' from Teddy, or you guys she can go lay in her kennel. Just make sure everyone agrees that once she's in there, it's her 'alone' time :).
That way, when things get overwhelming she has a place she can go for some relief.

well right now we have a doggie only bedroom. It has a couch and a chair and is very quiet and secluded from the main area of the house. We will also set up Teddy's old crate for her incase she decides she would like to make use of it.

She has her own dishes, collar, leash and even a few toys that have not been touched by another dog lol.

Gemp, if that is what makes them comfortable then she will be the most comfortable dog in history :D LOL

Thanks for the tip everyone. for some reason... setting up the crate never even crossed my mind lol

Are you taking Teddy with you when you pick her up?
I think it would be a good idea to let them walk into your home together verses bringing her in while Teddy is already there... :)

I am sure everything will go great! I can't wait for some pics!
Looks like you have everything else covered. ;)

I like Julie's idea. Everytime we brought a new dog home though, if we didn't have Hannah with, we would have them meet somewhere were Hannah didn't go a lot. That usually meant the front yard. That way it was a foreign turf for both of them.

Teddy is not coming for the ride to get her but they will be meeting outside of the house. Then they will go for a nice long walk before coming inside. The biggest hope is that the walk will tire them both out and get most of the first bit of excitement out of the way. Then when we go inside hopefully it will help keep rough housing to a minimum. :D

Congratulations! I know you have been waiting a while for this. I was just wondering what time you were gonna go get her (I really want to hear how things go and see pictures).
