Hamster questions

So we finaly got our hamster. His name is Hamilton and is a russian dwarf hamster. We are dying to hold him, but I knew we had to wait a certain amount of time. Does anyone know how long we have to wait to hold the hamster. We got him on 9/7.

You don't have to wait that long...just enough time for him to settle in. I would give it a few days, And then I would stick my hands in the cage, and lie them on the cage floor...Let him run around and sniff your hands if he pleases. And do that a few days without holding him. And then let the next time he climbs on your hand, pick it up.
