They just had the dogs do this thing where they had to lead golden retriever puppies in a maze. Of course it was incredibly hard for everyone because the puppies just wanted to play with each other and explore instead of following the dog. There was one dog, a brittany, who wanted nothing to do with the puppies and actually snapped at them because she was getting so upset. I think it was a stupid challenge and they could have thought of better things to do. Although it was funny when Victoria Stillwell and this other judge got into a big argument. This show is so inane, my mom is forcing me to watch it right now.

Yeah I felt bad for Bill and Star. He did push her too far and I think he knew it but he was kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place with the judges. IMO with the way the judges have judged in the past... if he had dropped ou t because she was stressed they would have given him a hard time for not "preparing her" and if he just kept pushing her they gave him a hard time for that. Tough position to be in but he admitted his faults and took the criticism like a true gentleman.

I am glad that Beth Joy is gone... I'm sick of her CRYING

My mom was telling me about that - she asked me what would happen if I put Auggie in a maze with three puppies. "Would he bring the puppies out?" she asked.
"No... he'd just stay in there and play. Why would he come out?"
"No, no, but you call him - he's in the maze and you're outside, and you'd say 'here Auggie!' and then what?"
"Then he'd come running."
"That was the thing on American Dog tonight, they were supposed to lead the puppies out. Most of the dogs just came running when they were called and forgot about the puppies."
"Well... that's what a recall is FOR. To, you know, have the dog come to you no matter what's going on."
"But they were supposed to bring the puppies with them - you don't think he would?"
"He's not SUPPOSED to - Auggie's recall means COME HERE I DON'T CARE WHAT'S GOING ON I SAID NOW. It's the exact opposite of what they wanted... I don't care if there are puppies to play with, I said HERE and I mean NOW."

Kind of a stupid test IMO. =P
Which judge did Victoria fight with?? PLEASE tell me it was that ridiculous woman...

I think Wendy is the twit

she has been a bitch from day one. Not ever have I heard her give constructive advice to any contestants. She's too busy laughing and saying "that's the worst picture I've ever seen" or "That was ridiculous" etc etc. She acts like a highschool girl. I appreciate that she is an advocate for rescue dogs but otherwise... she's useless on the show. she 's just there to make fun of people.

I think the Male judge is my favorite.

Agreed.

I really do like the show though... makes me think of what Big Brother would most likely look like if they threw some dogs in the house. :p Sure most of the challenges are pretty ridiculous but it's still cool to watch. And I still can't wrap my mind around how Presley is only 1.5 years old lol, he's too obedient and relaxed. :p

I like the show but I wish they could vote the judges off. :p The two female judges in particular... the guy isn't so bad.

I love that show. And Victoria Stillwell. ;3

I think Fozzie would have kicked AZZ in that challenge... he is a puppy magnet, and he loves them. It would be hilarious to see Gonzo with a bunch of Golden puppies. They would follow him, because puppies love to pick on him, and he would be snarking the whole way.

I watched the show last night and I couldn't believe that the judges EXPECTED the dogs to understand they were supposed to lead the puppies out of the maze! That is just plain idiotic, in my opinion. A well trained dog is taught to IGNORE distractions and listen to its owner and this should be the expected response when placed in a maze full of puppies. I felt sorry for Bill and Star. He did push her too far but as someone pointed out, its a darned if you do, darned if you don't situation. The judges have lacked consistency in what they want the whole way through the show. Another thing that is really annoying me is the look of absolute "shock" and "disgust" when a dog growls or snaps at another dog. Hello?!?!? If these people want a dog who is completely non-reactive to anything that is disturbing them they need to get a stuffed animal.

Don't you just love Presley. He is just too cute for words. He is so well behaved. I love when he acts like a goofy puppy. He is cute and I love the way his owner baby talks him lol. I laughed one day because he called him a pooper... that's what we call our two... Poopers lol.

I like the show too. the challenges are kind of goofy but who can resist watching a bunch of dogs for an hour :D I sure can't hehe

I haven't watched the show, but I did overhear someone talking about the method of training they use when my mom was watching..and I heard something about how he hits his dogs and is rough with them?

And I Love Victoria Stillwell! :)

I started catching up on some episodes last night...I love that they are free to watch on their website!

I really don't like the judges in general, I find myself disagreeing with them a lot. The guy is okay, but the chicks are usually just so incredibly biased. There is right and wrong, and then there is opinion. They just want to force their opinions down peoples throats sometimes it seems like.

I agree.
Seems alot of it was based on luck. Each contestant got different set of pups. Some pups found it fun to chase the dog, some were pre-occupied being typical puppies.
The winners got lucky. The last one who got all 3 out at once....that was luk, not skill. The dog didnt wait for them, he just bolted through and the pups 'happened' to follow.

` the reference I think about training methods was referring to...correct me if I'm wrong` Not that he hits or harms the dog, he does a 'scruff shake' to discipline. Got the impression he also does the old style 'dominance roll'.....nothing abusing, just old style training.

Yeah, I was thinking the whole time that this was a stupid challenge. Ozzy would have played with the pups until I called him, and then he would have bolted through the maze, and ignored the pups. I don't think any of those dogs really knew what the heck was going on.

Teresa and Leroy, I like them more and more. They are really coming along in their training.

Bill and Star, I think he pushed her a little too hard. I'm not sure how old she is, but she looks pretty well up there. Galaxy is almost as old, and may be older, but Star definitely shows her age more than Galaxy does.

JD and Galaxy, I think they did pretty well considering. I didn't see him get angry at her once. I saw him upset that he didn't win the dog bone challenge, but I'd be pretty upset too if I was hoping to speak to my son before his birthday, and it hinged upon a contest that I lost.

Laurie and Andrew, I think she knew that the challenge was stupid, there wasn't any point to it, and that not all dogs love puppies. Andrew wasn't the only dog that took a nip at a rude pup, but he was the only one that got called out for it.

Travis and Presley, didn't impress or disappoint me this time, nothing much to say except what has already been said.

I am SO freaking glad that the girl went home. Oh my god, I thought the whole show was going to be her boo hooing about her dog. Bella Starlet needs some major work.
