Boo eats is as a portion of her nightly meal (it's a bit expensive to feed exclusively). She's eating the artisan chicken variety, but there are other varieties without chicken as well.
She loves the stuff and does well on it. If I recall, it took her a meal or two to decide that it tasted alright, but now she likes it better than the kibble portion of her diet.
I don't really follow the directions - I just rehydrate it with however much water seems sufficient (til it's a bit like oatmeal) and let it sit for maybe a minute or two before feeding. Never had a problem even though the bag says to wait longer.
Just one thing to note - there are always a few chunks of chicken at the top of the bag, but the vast majority is finely ground into the food. I was concerned at first (was thinking that there wasn't enough chicken in the food), but found that sidenote written in tiny print on the bag.
Misty (the cat) ate the cat food for a while as well until we discovered that fish makes her vomit.
