steve has a large-ish swelling at his upper incision from his neuter. this is the incision where they went into his belly to dig around. it's probably just swelling or fluid build up from him being too active, but i'm taking him in to get it checked, because there's a chance he's popped his internal stitches and it's his guts sticking out. which would really suck.

Vibes sent!

I am going to be hoping with all my might that it's just a little fluid build up!

Oh, poor Steve. Good thoughts and get well vibes for the poor woofer. It's probably nothing serious, but still worrisome. Feel better soon, Steve!

thank you everyone for the good vibes!

it is indeed just fluid/swelling/whatever. which is what i thought, but when i first noticed it last night and was poking at it, it went "goosh" in a way that made me think of intestines, so i got a little flighty. i've never actually seen a dog pop their stitches, but it can happen. steve's such a freaking maniac, that if it was going to happen, well....

when i mentioned the gooshing to the doctor, he palpated steve's belly even more carefully and said everything is smooth and closed the way it should be, that it's just superficial swelling, and keep him quiet. bwahahahahaha.

Keeping herding dogs quiet after a neuter is the best joke EVER. HILARIOUS.

Glad it's just fluid!

Awesome thought, Renee! That'd do it. :rofl1:

For a somewhat less stressful method, have you considered a strait jacket?
:lol-sign:
