'in spring a golden will put mud on your carpets ; fur all over your best navy blue , and a flowering bloom in your heart/ A golden flame of color against dark summer covert, the spray of surf sent flying , peace sprawled against the cool earth. He is complacence wearing a seeing guard harness, pride with a bird in his mouth , dignity wanted his tummy rubbed , elegance working in the swampland. A Golden has the understanding of a saint, the patience of Buddha, the eagerness of a kid at the circus , and a tail that challenges perpetual motion. Having a Golden Retriever is never knowing where your shoes are at any given moment ; having your neighbors call you up because he's sleeping in the snow instead of his kennel house ; keeping cups off the coffee table because of wild tails, and being not quite sure f your paragon would decimate a burglar or fix him a cuppa tea and show him where the best silver is kept. When you have a Golden , you get up a little earlier, spend more time driving a little further, bring home less taxable , and have a hundred times the enjoyment of your neighbors who do their gambling at more common places.
