My hair is ombré and I had to cut about 3 inches off. But it wasn't in good shape before I bleached it either. It looks really good though, I love the ombré, and plan to keep it as my hair grows out. :)

Don't chalk your hair!!! I have done it and it split my ends to hell and back and they were awful! My hair was literally breaking off!

Awww, boo, I don't know anybody who's done it so never heard anybody say how it works. That blows.

I can no longer avoid having to touch up my roots on my blonde. I can't pass it off as a shadow anymore, haha. I've never touched up roots before and just done the roots, I've always done where you cover the roots and then cover the rest of your hair too... definitely not doing that this time, just doing the roots. My hair is still in great condition, the gay guy at Sally's is delighted and so am I. It definitely does help to start with healthy hair though before you do any kind of chemical processing, and make sure you're using a good shampoo/conditioner. My Rockaholic shampoo has never earned my love more than after I bleached.

Best\favorite shampoo fir curly and frizzy hair? My current system is not working either. I end up with tangled frizz one day and flat, greasy looking hair the next. I suck at being a girl.

I've been reading about angus castus and have bought some to try. Meant to be good for all things menstrual related :) hoping it gets some good results.

And secondly, I chopped all my hair off and got a fringe. You can't see how short it is at the back, but it's very short!!!! And then I took a selfie sitting on a toilet, what of it?

I use the least amount of shampoo possible, I really like the Jason line of products.. they are natural and awesome and found at most places (CVS etc..) I use the restorative shampoo and heavy duty conditioner

Think I fixed it, how weird.

Yes, I do like it! Took me a couple of days, but I like it more each day, and I've had a lot of compliments from people! Feel younger and fresh and just better!! It's amazing what a good haircut does for you.

I don't use sbampoo which is probably one of the best things I've done for my hair. My hair used to be a poofy, wavy, ball of frizz. I use dirt cheap conditioner to clean my scalp-right now I'm using VO5 Moisture Milks, I massage it in and rinse just like I would with a shampoo, but it doesn't have the harsh cleansing agents. This one also doesn't have silicones in it, which sometimes can only be removed with a shampoo, otherwise they just build up on your hair.

Then I use a moisturizing conditioner, I've been using Shea Moisture for a while. Target often has it on sale. Put that in, rinse. Finally I throw in a small amount of conditioner as a leave-in. Also, no brushing. Sometimes I will gently go through it with a wide toothed comb but most often I just use my fingers.

This is what works for me at least! Moisture moisture moisture and treating it very gently.

I shampoo one it two times a week with a gentle sulfate free shampoo or a shampoo bar. For me, my hair is more wavy then curly and naturally oily (good oily) so it needs a bit of shampoo.

My daughters hair is wavy curly but super dry. I use conditioner to wash hers and it works beautifully.

I have curly hair that frizzes really bed ESP in humid or cold and / or windy weather ... I use a "no poo" method where I "wash" my hair with conditioner usually an anti frizz or smoothing. For brushing I use a horse product called. "Cowboy magic" it's a clear serum that really works well for dry and damaged hair ... Don't know if you can use it on color treated hair tho.

Stop with the shampoo or water it down and only use it on your roots.

Brush it with a wide-toothed comb while it's wet and soaked in conditioner. Rinse. Turn your head upside down when you get out of the shower and roll it up in a towel to get excess moisture out. If you're gentle it wont frizz, but you'll get it dry enough that you can let it air-dry the rest of the way without catching a cold. DON'T brush it. Avoid blow-drying if you can. If you can't, use a diffuser to keep the curls.

A heavy-duty conditioner I like is Renpure... you can get it at Walgreens. It smells like pomegranite stripper, but holy hell does it work nicely on my hair. Mane and Tail is also a good brand - you can get it at Wal Mart or Target. Whole Foods has giant tubs of this shea butter conditioner that I love, too.

Thanks, guys! I avoid blow drying my hair and rarely brush it. I usually run my fingers through it or just brush out the top. I'll try some of the products mentioned. I've been trying to avoid using a towel as well but.. it's hard.

I have a hard time finding a stylist that is comfortable with curly hair. They're always scared of my hair or assume I know everything I want.

Greenmagick, your blue looks great! And so do your curls.

Airn, I hope it helps. Towels aren't bad - but rubbing your hair with them is. Still use the towel, just twist your hair up in it and leave it for a while.

The first pic is how my hair looks when I let it dry naturally and don't brush it. Lol I also try not to wash it (even when using "no poo") lol my OH thinks it's gross that I only really wash my hair (with shampoo and all) like ... Once. Month in winter and every two weeks in summer. When though I jut wash with conditioner I only do it like twice a week, maybe once in winter and three times a week in summer. I have to wear a helmet when I'm on the track but I wear a bandana under it so my hair doesn't get all nasty ... Even in summer. He also is like "wut?" When I don't brush my hair but I told him I know what's best for my hair so shove off xD

Gah having curly hair is such a pain sometimes ... Mine spends the majority of its time in a braid xD

I want to whiten my teeth.

Has anyone use peroxide and baking soda to do this? If it won't work (well), I'll skip it and buy crest white strips (which I'm kind of scared of tbh). Also, how long should it take with the peroxide and baking soda to see results?
