Nobody tell my boyfriend.

I went to the best wedding on Saturday (Small, fun, happy people, relaxed, simple, great fun bride, cute french bulldog) and her dress was so beautiful and everyone had such a great time
and now my wedding fever is like burning in my soul.

I have been watching say yes to the dress for like 5 hours straight.

For a while recently I thought eloping was something I might want to do (i've lost a bit faith in the extravagance/expense/drama of weddings as of late)
But now.. NO WAY!! I WANT A WEDDING AND A PRETTY DRESS AND CAKE AND I WANT IT ALL!
Ha ha! Love it. I just got home from a beautiful wedding. Had such a great time. And now my desire to elope is so much stronger. I do not want to spend that kind of money! Just have to convince my boyfriend as he wants a wedding. Well, in theory he does because 4.5 years later my ring finger is still bare. I told him he's got until our 5 year anniversary and then it's on like Donkey Kong. I will devise the most public possible way to propose to HIM. I think he thinks I'm kidding. But I'm not. I am so not. Need to start coming up with ideas....

And then Spain to get married. Just the 2 of us and no one else.

Elope all the way for me!!! I like the idea of marriage, not wedding! Party when we get back for family etc, but actual wedding just for us!!

He's got to ask first though... Some traditions should stay! Lol!

**** new birth control (Jolessa) and I've been spotting for like 3 weeks!

*TMI ALERT* and there is like..chunks of tissue.. dude, it's so gross.

The first month on it was FINE and then all hell broke lose this sucks :( no other side effects but I'd rather not keep this up.

If this doesn't end by november I'm going to be SO MAD
I had this with the Depo shot--it is pretty icky!

I got my hair cut and high and low lighted (with red) yesterday and I love it! It's more bold than I typically have done but the more I look at it the more I like it.

I also went to Walmart last night and got a face primer that is supposed to reduce redness, and a new liquid powder makeup.

Yess...I've said it before, but it bears repeating. I love being married. I hated getting married. We had a pretty relaxed (though very classy) wedding, but it was still super stressful for me being the center of attention all day!

I don't know if we are going to ever get married (It's not really high on my priority list LOL ... we love each other ... that's all that really matters to me). But if we do, we are going to just go to the judge.

LOL He wants to get married more then I do, he talks about it more then I do LOL.

That's basically what Eric & I did. We didn't elope, but we went and got married at the courthouse. Well, we intended on doing that, then the guy who "is always there" that could marry us went on vacation THAT day. So we ended up going to the nicest older mans house and he married us there. Cost a whopping $85 for everything. And I got to wear jeans. LOL.

We got married in April '12, waited til May '13 to have our reception/party.

My husband and I got married in a law firm by a Justice Of The Peace. Nothing fancy, but that was the idea. We just wanted to be married :)

I'm starting to freak out over this whole "you can never take The Pill" again, because it's what I've used forever and there's a comfort factor in knowing that if it's not working properly and making me insane, I can stop it immediately and the hormones will be out of my system in a couple of days.

This doc is recommending an IUD and Prozac. I really don't know that I feel comfortable with that route, because of all you guys' horror stories about IUD's and then all the potential negative side effects of Prozac.

ARRRRGH. WHY CAN'T I JUST BE SANE AND STERILE??

I have an IUD and love it. I did the pill route for about a year and a half and then came off of it and we were just being super careful with condoms. Did that for about 2 years but I was always worried about possible accidents so finally I went to see my doctor. Surprise surprise there are basically only 2 non-hormone options. Condoms or a copper IUD. So I went for the IUD. No horrible side effects from hormones. The feeling like I just wanted to sit and watch t.v. and eat chips was NOT okay with me. I'm a go go go kind of person and I hated the way the hormones made me feel.

Plus my IUD is good for 5 years. I will admit that the insertion process was not fun. It wasn't horrible but it was unpleasant. But every 5 years? I can deal with that. I do find I have slightly worse cramps, but nothing horrible. I know people who have worsen cramps just naturally.

Actually, I asked my doc to tie my tubes, but I was 24 at the time and have no children so apparently they won't do it. Pfffft.

Zoom, how about Implanon? I would be more willing to try Implanon than an IUD again... is that a possibility?

There are sooo many women with IUDs that don't have any problems at all. But I can understand being worried about it (since I had mine yanked out and all.)

Was there one you did good on? I've been on some that made me off but others worked after that. The implants scare me to knowing people who had issues that were pretty bad.

Depending on your insurance coverage, the IUD may just cost you a copay. Mine was $20 because of my insurance treating it as an outpatient procedure or somesuch. At $20 it's something that's relatively easily removed if needed tbh. Placement itself sucked, but I really could have gone right back to work afterward vs taking a long weekend.

I've had my IUD for almost 4 years now and other than occasionally spazzing about being pregnant since I don't have any periods, it's been great. :)

Also, going to put this out there: if you don't see yourself ever wanting kids, it might be worth discussing sterilization. I know it can be hard to find a doc to do that on someone "young" because of outdated thoughts on parenthood, but given all the challenges, perhaps that would be the easiest way to avoid the whole BC issue if kids aren't on the table.

I've asked three separate doctors about getting my tubes tied and each and everyone one of them were like "uhh...no?" Meanwhile I'm telling them that I'm 31 years old, I'm pretty sure I know my own mind at this time.

I've done well on various other forms, but it seemed to have a 3 year limit. Every three years my hormones seem to have shifted just enough that I have to get off it because I get increasingly homicidal/suicidal each period. I fit the symptom list for PMDD but so far the docs I've talked to seem to view that as a marketing gimmick for Yaz and not an actual issue.

I have sh*tty cramps as it, I do NOT want to deliberately do anything that makes them worse. I have to be able to walk all day, function and deal with guys who don't give a **** if your uterus is trying to tie itself into balloon animals.

Also, trying to avoid sticking copper anywhere. On the off-chance that I am actually bi-polar and not just clinically depressed, copper is notorious for worsening bipolarity. I take a lot of Vitamin C to help pull out excess copper from my system as is.

Yikes, you had yours yanked out!? That is intense.

I have an IUD, and I LOVE IT. I would definitely recommend them, based on my experience. I didn't even find the insertion very uncomfortable. Hormone free, very effective, lasts 5 years. I haven't had any ill effects from mine at all. I have a copper IUD.

I've suggested it before, but condoms. Used correctly and consistently they're quite effective. I would NOT suggest a Mirena for you.

If you'd like to be sterile permanently, go talk to the Planned Parenthood off of County Line. I went in for STD testing last week and ended up talking about Essure with them. . . I think they said it was 2-3 grand without insurance and they had a doctor that would be happy to do it for me despite my age. She said the doc has even done it for people under 21. I think you'll be fine. PP does take insurance, so it could cost you a lot less - and it's permanent.

With Essure you still have cramps as per normal. My old business manager got it once they were done having kids and she still had days she would go home sick because her cramps were so bad. Apparently some women actually have worse cramps after getting the Essure put in, and it's permanent, so... you're stuck with it. Better hope it doesn't go poorly.

Kootenay, when you have an IUD removed, that's how it's done. They grab the strings... and pull. In fact some women even do it themselves at home though it's really not recommended.

Ohh, I totally misunderstood you...I thought you meant that it had been pulled out unintentionally at some point.

Oh hell no. I HAD it yanked out. Went in and said OUT WITH THIS. RIGHT NOW. TODAY. The doc tried to talk me into keeping it. No. Out. Now. And while I'm here, inject some more hormones into my ass please.

The only time I ever felt better is when I yanked out my Nuvaring and threw it in the trash.

Zoom, call UCH. They will tie your tubes for you as long as you sign a waiver stating that you won't sure then if ever you get baby fever for some ungodly reason. I talked to them before I got pregnant with Winnie. I was 19 and they didn't care.
