He went to the vet today, I could not go because I was at school. This morning he was pretty bad, he walked over to dad and when dad pet him on the head he helped very loud, dad pet him again on the head but more gently and he still yelped. When he went to lay down he yelped again, I was feeling really bad for him. Any way when i got home from school I called dad and asked how things went and he said the vet said everything looks fine so far. They can't tell what's wrong without a blood and urine sample, then if those show up with nothing they will do an x-ray. So they took Max's blood and dad told me to get a urine sample from him and when mom gets home (she should have been home 23 mins. ago) to bring that to the vet. They will have the results in 24 to 48 hours. When I took Max out to pee, I got the sample and then we started walking again and he laid down on the lawn and did the shaking thing again. He was there for 5 mins. before I could make him get up. I took him in and now h is asleep on the floor. I'll tell you what happens when the results come. I feel bad that he has to go two more days with pain :( .

:( That's so sad. He sounds so uncomfortable. Did the vet not give you any pain meds for the next couple days?

It's good you are getting him looked at.

My mom got home and she told me more. The vet felt for tumors in his belly, bladder and other organs but could not feel any. Max's pee is not the right color, but it has been that way for a while now, my dad just went to bring that to the vet now. In the last ten months Max has lost eight pounds, which really worries the vet. He also says that his bladder feels a little small, although I'm not sure what that means. I'm really afraid he has cancer. I hope he doesn't and it is just an infection that can be cured by antibiotics. They pulled at all his joints and he did not care. max had a completely weird personality, he is usually freaking out and pulling, but today he just laid there. Please pray for him and send good vibes. I know I will pray for him. Thanks for all your support.

To answer your question about what a dog seizure is like....There are different types, but this is what I've seen with one of my dogs..

Molly, who was with me from 1995 - 2003 had seizures that would last 2-3 minutes (seemed like an hour). I could tell when one was coming on b/c she would start circling around, almost like she was chasing her tail, then she would just fall over and start shaking violently, foamed at the mouth, and didn't respond to anything. Although she would shake like crazy, every muscle in her body would be tense. All I could do was just try to comfort her, although I don't think she even knew I was there. I'd think this is the worst kind of seizure, but I'm not sure. Hope this doesn't scare you, but the seizures she had was caused by cancer in her brain. It wasn't epilepsy. She had cancer on her spleen about 8 months before (that tumor was the size of a baseball), had her spleen removed, but it wasn't caught in time, the cancer spread to her brain. Just remember, these were violent seizures that she had and they started out of the blue when she was 8.....The vet at first said to keep an eye on her, and if she has 2 seizures within 24 hours to bring her in. Well, she had 2 seizures within 4 hours.....

The vet called and they still don't know what is wrong. The only problem is that there is blood in his urine. Could it still be cancer even though it does not show it in his blood tests? Tomorrow he will get X-rays and if they show nothing he will get an ultra sound. I'm very worried about cancer, do you think that's what it is? Or could it be stones, he acts very sick and just lays there all day (I'm actually afraid he is not drinking enough) The vet said with stones they don't usually feel sick. I'm very nervous.

Max went to the vet today and they did the X ray and Ultrasound. hey found tumors in his kidneys and spleen. They biopsied tissue from them and did not find cancer cells but are sure that he has cancer somewhere in his body. They gave us anti-inflammatory meds to try for a week along with pain medicine. If they make him feel better then they will give him more until he dies or is no longer comfortable. If after a week he feels no better then he will be put to sleep. I am miserable right now and wish he never had to die. But I know all good thing must end thanks for all your support.
