Does anyone have any future names picked out for future dogs? Or am a weirdo and have planning issues?

I have a specific name picked out (I have many more, but of less importance.) The name is Ruon. Ruon is "Nour" backwards. You guys don't know, but I had a German Shepherd x Alaskan Malamute named Nour. in late May he supposedly "ran away"... he had in fact been surrendered to the shelter by my father. He had lied to my family for a month before we found out. But I want to always remember Nour, therefore sometime in the future I will have a dog with the name Ruon. Ruon is pronounced "roo-on".

Anyone else have special names picked out?

You guys are making me doubt myself for sharing the name! Hopefully there aren't any stealers on this thread!

Please forgive any spelling mistakes, I am on my phone. :)

I have a list of names for future dogs and one I am strongly leaning toward for my next puppy. But I too am a party pooper and won't share. Not only do I not want somebody to take them, but whenever I post names I decide I don't like them as much shortly after sometimes.

I can't even name my own animals for weeks once I get them. I certainly don't have ideas picked out way in advance.

Other than, if I ever get a huge good natured dog, it will be Tarrou. Which is Tristan's registered name, but I never use it, so I feel okay recycling it. I don't ever want a huge dog, though, so unlikely.

I'll share...I don't care if anyone steals it :D I love the name Ruon by the way and the story behind it!

My next 'Houla (if it fits...I'm notorious for changing names after I have the animal in my possession) will have a registered name of _____ (kennel name) Swamp Thing and a call name of Gator.

I always have a list and then never name the dog a name that is on the list (of the few dogs that haven't come pre-named). I could not decide on a name for Mia at all. Took me a while to call her something other than puppy. Belle or Spring were the names tossed around for Mia before she was Mia. She is soooo not a 'Belle'. :rofl1:

I have a mental list of names for my next dog (almost guaranteed to be a German Shepherd female). Won't share though, not because I'm worried anyone would steal it (I'm not that clever or creative), but because I always wind up changing my mind.

Trent's name had been decided but when he was around 5 or 6 weeks old I changed my mind on whim and thought "Trent" suited him better.

I have a thread similar to this lol

But honestly at this point (it may change) -

Pyr - Apollo I really like but I'm really leaning towards Koga (Silver Fang in japanese)

Malinois - Blaze, Cosmos, Orion

Caucasian Shepherd - Inugami, Typhon

Kuvasz - Zoltan

Pomeranian/Eskimo - Bear or Leo

That's a good point lol. Kim's puppy name was Cookie (foster mom) which wasn't going to work. We drove to get her thinking "Bailey." Met her...also a horrible choice. We gave ourselves the 2 hour drive home to come up with the perfect name and "Kim" won lol.

Mira wasn't on the list either but just worked on so many levels...her name is 3 different references in combination and it just works for her. Feminine but not super girly. Just...Mira :)

So for all my lists of names...I may never use any of them lol. Except the Koolie one. If I get a Koolie, I'm so using that name :p

Sophie's tag and paper name is Opheila. The kids said it's too hard to call so It became Sophie. I'm a big fan of the group The Band. "Opheila" is one of my favorite songs. Next dog names will be Fanny from "The Weight" and Caledonia from "Caledonia Mission". Oh and for a male cat Sebastian...from 70's music-Steve Harley and the Cockney Rebel-I'm a way total oldies music nerd:D

I have a huge list. I also have a list of registered names I want to use.
Auggie wasn't the name I thought I was going to use but as soon as I met him I knew Auggie was the right name. The other name is still on the list.
Payton was going to be "Cowboy" from the photos, but when I met him I knew that wasn't right. I tried a few other names from the list, even called him Payton for a whole morning, then vetoed it... and a week later realized Payton was the only one that fit. I love it for him.

But yeah it's a huge list of names... and they are all boy names LOL.
