Dog problems

My dog has a tendancy to think hes a cat. He is not fixed. When the cat walks past him he has a tendancy to smell her butt. Is there anyone else thats had this problem? Does anyone know anything about correcting this problem? I have tried everything. I've tried seperating the cats and dogs. I've tried scolding him.

Hes a 6 year old Cockerspaniel.

Our Dog Princess (see My Pics of My Dogs thread) thinks the same thing. When we get the cat inside, she smells her and plays with her. Sometimes they cuddle up together. She also comes running when you call, "Here Kitty!" My friends dog cuddles and plays with her cats too. We don't do anything about it because it's a way of a dog saying, "Hello."
