I've decided that I since I'm going to be baking human cookies this weekend, I might as well try do a batch for the puppydogs. I'm trying to find a dog biscuit recipe online, but am having trouble finding one that fits what I'm looking for. Here's what I want:
--Something that becomes hard and stores at room temperature, just like a dog biscuit. No soft treats, or anything that needs refrigeration.
--No cornmeal or any other corn-based products. Zeus is allergic.
--No overly-uncommon ingredients. I'm never going to use wheat germ, barley flour, rye flour, brewers yeast or dry milk in my everyday cooking. I don't want to buy a package of it just to use a bit in dog treats. Not very cost effective or practical.
--I'd love something that uses cookie cutters, just because I like playing with cookie cutters. But it's not a big requirement.
So, can anyone help? Anybody know of a good recipe for me?
