Several of mine do. They love dog shows, or animal action shows. Here is my favorite. Here is my beloved Hottie watching a k9 competition. Its funny when you hear the announcer and what they say, and what he does. We rarely could use the large tv set in the living room or else he would try to dive behind the tv or once even into the stone fireplace looking for the running animal..

Yep. Caleb has watched TV almost from the day we brought him home. How the heck he knows when a dog show is on is beyond me. He can be napping on the floor and will pick up his head and watch the "down & backs", especially the Sporting breeds. The only sound that could clue him in is the applauding and announcer. The look on his face is priceless when I have "It's Me or The Dog" on- he looks from the TV to me with his eyes wide open like he's surprised. He also watches bullriding. The weird thing about that is the other night I was watching a livestock auction on RFDTV. Caleb was watching video clips of the 3 year old bulls bucking with dummy boxes. He kept looking at the TV then back at me with a confused look. I'm convinced he was looking for the cowboy to get up and walk out of the arena.

Oh yes!!

Cheyenne (TheGoldenRetriever, R.I.P.) loved football games!! Tom is a bit of a crazy football fan, anytime he cheered b/c one of "his" teams scored Cheyenne would jump up and and get all excited too. :) But baseball would make her yawn and fall asleep. She also liked any show with animals, especially kittens mewing, and liked anything that had children laughing.

Spike (Wolf hybrid, R.I.P.) wasn't much for T.V. but barking dogs on the tube would get his attention momentarily.

Riley (Westie) absolutely LOVES television. He will sit on the couch in the T.V./stereo room all by himself to watch. The running joke around here is that we put the T.V. on for the dog ... he watches more than anyone else here. He likes Animal Planet ... especially It's Me or the Dog and K9 Cops. He also likes cartoons, anything with children laughing or talking, and of all things ... music videos. He's soooo into television. :D

Buddy (rescue Golden) only likes Animal Planet ... and only shows with dogs. It's Me or the Dog gets his attention, he also likes K9 Cops. He intently watches Animal Precinct and Emergency Vets, but if any dogs on those shows are upset (crying, not-so-happy-barking) then sometimes he gets upset too.

Meg watches occasionally. She is oddly obsessed with American Idol. Not long after I got her, she sat in my lap and stared at it through an entire one hour episode. It was actually a little creepy. She would glance at me once in a while, but would immediately start watching again. I have no idea what about it appeals to her, since there isn't really any movement or anything.

I LOVE your video! Too cute. He's really into it! I have one dog, Jose` (my major character) who watches. He will watch when I first turn the TV on....to see what's on. Then he'll put his head down and go to sleep if it doesn't interest him. Mainly what interests him are things on Animal Planet. He actually growls a deep throaty growl, barks a little bit and will even do his infamous howl. Someday I'll have to get that on video. Who ever thought of a Chihuahua who howls. I mean, the longest, drawn out howl. Anyhow, it's hard to watch Animal Planet or any show that has any animal on it with the racket. I can tell him, "enough" and he'll pipe down, but on the other hand....it's sort of interesting. Sometimes he mistakes momentarily a human dressed strangly or something else for an animal and will look intently, then relax....like, "Oh...I see. It's not an animal." And back to sleep he goes.

Nope. I'm convinced Lucy can't see it. She likes when we watch it, because it means there's a lap for her to try to crawl onto or flop next to on the couch, but she doesn't watch the screen at all.

Doberluv- :rofl1: I can see that happening.. :D I was watching a lure coursing show one time and as the lure took off, so did Femka and zubin come flying across the room.. lol.. Poor femka- clicked her teeth on the tv set and seemed massively confused.. I busted out laughing, and then she throws ( I swear) a dirty look and sulked off.. Well- I could not help it- it was a riot! :D

Strider LOVED the opening of the olympic games. He likes to watch TV at my parent's place because they have a 50" plasma.

Once my dad was watching Letters from Iwo Jima, and there was a scene were some planes flew towards the camera and started strafing, with the bullets throwing up dirt coming closer and closer to the viewer until they seemed like they were right on top of you. Strider got this look on his face like, "OH $(&T!", jumped to his feet, and "dodged" all the bullets. My dad laughed so hard he had to pause the movie for a few minutes.

I would have died laughing Romy! :D We both know sighthounds are far sighted and natural to pick up movement so I bet that spooked him! :D
One time we were watching a war movie with a tank that came up over the hill. All 4 Borzois left the room, only to turn at the hallway and stop and look. It turned into a borzoi traffic jam.. :rofl1:

Yep, Dillon loves dog shows, especially Westminster, when the winner is announced and the clapping starts he runs over and starts barking. Of course this is a dog that has been trying to get the dog in the fireplace glass to come out and play for over a year now, he also ducks and closes his eyes when we go under overpasses or through tunnels.:lol-sign:

That is hilarious! It is so funny how she gave you that dirty look. I see that look sometimes from Chulita if another dog has flatulence (lol) badly near her. It's the walking away, head over the shoulder, looking back at the dog glare. LOL. She gave me that look too when I set her ever so gently in the lake to swim from the end of a dock. When she got back to shore, she shook and looked over her shoulder and gave me the vile glare.

It's funny how some are way into it and some don't seem to notice. I remember when Lyric, my Dobe was a pup and everything was kind of a new adventure to him, he'd sometimes stand right in front and then walk around to the back of the TV...as if he were trying to see if there was somebody behind it. How on earth is it that there are people and dogs right there in front of me, but I can't smell them or touch them??? They must be back here. :p

Ohhhhhhh I know! My tv in the living room for years as been set caddy-corner in a corner to protect at least 3 sides somewhat to the set and cable box.. We still remember fondly the night Hottie chasing animals on tv dove into the stone fireplace before there was a woodstove there.. As he tries to glance up the chimney- ears up in full alert.. lol.
I have a friend that has a dog that after she had puppies, the show " thats my baby" ( or whatever the title was) that showed dogs having puppies and the story behind it. And when the puppies would cry on the tv, the dog would go check out all over behind the tv set looking for the pups.. :D Come back and watch the tv set, doing the routine all over again..
