Does your dog have a CGC/CGN?
No, but I'm hoping to get it this month or next month.

There's a show we're going to (to watch; someone didn't send in her entries, boo) that has offered CGC testing in the past, so hopefully they'll offer it. If not, we're going to the Basset specialty, which is offering all breed obed, and they have CGC testing on the Friday before.

If yes or no: does your dog have a rally or obedience title?
Yes; Elsie has her RE and her PCD, and two CD legs.

Once she gets her CD (hopefully in mid-May) we'll probably take a bit of a break and work on her RAE a little before starting open. She doesn't love the long sits/downs, so we've been working on them pretty hard for the past month. She held this weekend and got her second CD leg, but she's in no way ready for the out of sight stuff.

If yes: has your dog taken a therapy dog test as well?
No, and we won't. Elsie hates strangers.

Gage and Bristol have their CGN, and I'm thinking if putting Diesel in the class at the end of this month to see how he does.

None of any titles otherwise, but Diesel and Gage are working on Agility right now.

Bristol has done her therapy class and is taking the first steps to becoming a full fledged therapy dog. Then when the next class is held Gage will be going.

So.. both Whippets are supposed to take their CGCs Monday. Is this something you're supposed to practice for?

Nope. Between her reactivity to dogs and my utter inability to get her to walk nicely on a leash, we've never tried.

No rally or obedience. It doesn't interest me. Lucy lives to run, so I try to do activities that give her that opportunity.

We did therapy visits for a while, until I finally admitted that "be calm" was not her strong suit. She REALLY liked licking food off the old people's laps when their shaky hands dropped oatmeal though :D

Astro answers:
Yes, he has CGC, he earned it somewhere between 6 and 7 months old.
Nope, no rally or obedience titles, though honestly I'd like to try out one or both with him in the next couple years.
No, he has not been therapy tested.

I think he's too physically pushy in his affection - a trait I have not done anything to curb, because I enjoy it - for therapy work, and it's not really an aim of mine anyway.

Does your dog have a CGC/CGN? Yes, both Gavroche and Logan have their CGC. Logan got his at just over a year old, 2-3 weeks after I brought him home. Gavroche got his the spring after he came home, at about a year and a half-ish. I do plan on getting Logan's CGCA. My trainer is willing to do it for me with her next CGC test even though she doesn't typically offer it.

If yes or no: does your dog have a rally or obedience title? Yes, Gavroche got his first rally title at 3 years old, 2 years after I got him (the spring after he got his CGC). He has his AKC RA and UKC URO1. Logan got his first rally title at 17 months old (4 months after he came home). He has his AKC RA and UKC URO1 and I plan on getting his RE and URO3 eventually (I don't plan on RAE at this time due to cost, but that may change). Logan got his first obedience title earlier this month - BN. I plan to get his CD within the next year, and his UCD in October. I'd love to take him all the way to UDX eventually, maybe even OTCH! I've suddenly fallen madly in love with obedience thanks to Logan.

If yes: has your dog taken a therapy dog test as well? Logan has taken the TDI test and passed (again, 2-3 weeks after I got him at the same time I got his CGC). However, since he is a service dog, TDI won't let him be a therapy dog because they enjoy discrimination. I can't do Delta because my dog sget raw proteins regularly. However, my trainer will be a TDInc evaluator in about 6 months, and then we'll be doing therapy work though TDInc! I'm pretty excited, because Logan will be a fantastic therapy dog. Gavroche has never taken a therapy dog test, and he's not cut out for therapy work. If he could do therapy work for JUST kids, he'd be great, but where there are kids, there are adults, and that's entirely too scary for him.

ETA: Side note, I know someone who thinks any dog that isn't capable of getting a CGC/CGN should be euthanized. And yet she works a human-aggressive SD because he did pass his CGC years ago. I can't even begin to comprehend this.

Lola has her CGC, no rally titles but we've never tried.

She does have her therapy dog cert, and goes to a nursing home every week and does tricks/ takes naps in their laps.

Juno does. Just seemed like the thing to do after taking obed classes that practiced the tests.

I haven't thought about it for anyone else. Don't really care to get any sort of "titles" on my dogs lol.

Zellie + Kaia have their CGCs; I am working towards Kaia's CGCA for now, but I would like to pursue Rally +/- OB +/- tracking with her. She is not a good candidate for therapy work at all. Zellie got her CGC when she was fairly young, and I never pursued anything with her because Clyde came along and required most of my attention...

Clyde has his CGC and RN and volunteered actively with TDInc. We were working towards his CD when we found his cancer.

Nat + StiXxX have zilch and I don't know if they ever will. Nat is almost 15, blind/deaf and not very friendly. StiXxX could probably pass most of the CGC except for the supervised separation... and he may have a problem with strangers all up in his face. So, why bother.

Dance has her CGN. She has two legs toward an RN as well, but I haven't proceeded forward with her. Maybe one day. Right now we are focusing on Flyball and Agility and I am not really that inclined to do much more at the moment with her. Those keep us busy and are her favourites. Obedience and rally judges stress her out, and while it is something we could work on, I just don't really feel like it. She is happy as a Flyball dog and active pet. If she had a better temperament she would have been my first titled, sport dog. But we have spent more time working on her people issues than anything else. Just the fact that she has Flyball titles now makes me very proud.

Keira has her CGN. No other titles though. Just never really made it a priority or cared to. She is just a family companion and I never intended to do more with her as she was supposed to be mom's dog.

Ripley doesn't have his CGN simply because I never tried one with him. He would likely pass. I might still give it a try next time when one comes close. We'll see. Not a huge goal. He has no other titles either because he isn't registered. I wanted to do obedience and rally with him. But again, it wasn't a huge goal, so he became just a happy pet.

Journey doesn't have her CGN yet cause she failed her first time. Our Flyball team was hosting and she was a little over the top happy. Although the part she failed on I don't really feel she should have. But it is what it is. We will definitely try again and I think she'll pass next time. We have lots of goals for obedience and rally titles too but do not have any quite yet. We are working hard though! I would rather wait for us to be a good, solid team than rush into things just because she technically knows what is required. Journey, I think, is the perfect dog to really enter the world of dog sports with and while I am still learning a lot, I am super excited about our future. She is my do everything we can dog. But I think hiking will always still be my favourite k9 pastime haha. No stress.

None of my dogs have a therapy dog title. I would like to try it with Journey but I honestly just do not have time right now to do any therapy work right now and so there isn't much point in getting any certificate at the moment. Perhaps one day though.

Luce has her CGC, 2 obedience titles, and a large collection of rally titles.

Steve just has rally titles, no CGC (never tested).

One of these days I'll show Beanhead in rally. He could totally rock a novice course.

Daisy has a CGC and an RA. I had to retire her because she has a bad back and I was afraid of the broad jump in Excellent. She's never had a therapy dog evaluation, but she went to nursing homes all through my college career and beyond as part of an informal "pet therapy" group put together by a club I was in at Penn state.

Oh, Juno's trainer has always said I should do therapy work but she only sees the normal, happy go lucky Juno.... not the Juno that requires Prozac :p It might have been something I'd have been interested in pursuing back when I had more free time, but she's just not the dog for it.
