Well that's what they called female dogs even before it "became" a cuss word, it's the human mind's fault anyway. Also when we say it as in the female dog, it's not offensive and it sounds more proffesional :D

I'd hate it worse if it was directed at me. :)

Seriously though, it's just a word that, used properly, describes a female dog. The slang use of it came afterwards. Long story short, if it's used in it's proper form it doesn't bother me.

I wanna know why I became such a bad word.
Because some yahoo in the distant past thought it would be funny to call a woman a female dog?

I know it was the proper way to call a female dog, but since that curse been around since I was born, it's always irritated me.

Of all the female dogs that I have dealt with I can honestly say I know why they recieved that name. I find that they tend to be snarky and moody at times. Not say they are not great dogs, Hope is great but moody as heck. THere are times when the kids cannot go near her and other times they can sit right with her.

yup it's terrible. If it's so proper why does it sound so cruel. Can't they just refer to them as females. The males don't have such a cruel name!

Oh come on. It is not a cruel word. It was MADE into a cruel word.

If it makes you feel any better a female cat is called a Queen.
