Lol--I'm overweight and average looking, and I'd happily keep my bi-polar and OCD to instantly have the body I want. I can manage my mental issues, and have been for years. Managing my weight is a lot more challenging!

Exactly.

I have the body I want, physically I like myself, if someone came and said "I can take away your mental issues and make you "normal" ... but you'll be ugly. " I would be like, "no thanks"

That is a very interesting conclusion, especially since you have never met me in person.
It's the way you come across online. Obsessed with physical
Appearance and not caring about how you treat people... Again, online. Sometimes
Our online personas are totally different from how we are on real life

Yeah I come off as a total psycho online, I know. I think it's the having to type my words vs interpersonal communication (which I also avoid, but things don't get misinterpreted as easily).

If people on here talked to the folks who knew me in person and said some of the stuff they are staying about/to me to them, they would be like "you must be talking about someone else".

This is an interesting topic for sure! It seems like I haven't had the same experience as a lot of people here, I feel like I see people get treated differently based more so on their personality.

I think I'm a fairly decent looking girl, though I don't always put the most effort into my appearance, but I think I come off as fairly "distant", or not super approachable to people who I don't know well (really I am a little bit shy and can be kind of antisocial, it's not that I actually think I am above people at all...), so though people are perfectly decent to me, I don't seem to invite a lot of chattiness or connection through my daily life. I will still get hit on out at the club, sure, but I don't for instance strike up a lot of conversations while out doing errands.

However, a few of my family members and some of my close friends are just super chatty and outgoing, and they make best friends everywhere they go. Sure, they are nice looking, but I don't think that has as much to do with it as just the vibe that they put off, and the effort that they put into making connections.

I've had quite a few friends who weren't necessarily conventionally "hot", but were just super attractive to other people because of the way that they presented themselves.

Hey I totally get it. My husband is one of the warmest and most caring people I know and he would help anyone anytime with anything at the drop of a hat but online... his ability to communicate in writing stinks lol.

How quickly you forget you've posted pictures. ;)

Nevertheless, her assertion stands. Even if you looked like JLo I wouldn't hold a door open for you or change your tire!
I am not very photogenic anyway and luckily I can change my own tires. But if agreeing with what everyone says on here is the going price to be liked, I'll stay on the outside looking in, thanks.

First of all to the "you aren't average" comments you've got me all twitterpated <3

Also, this topic certainly also applies to dogs...Merlin 100% gets treated differently because of his looks. People like him, rules are ignored for him, people want to pet him and kiss him and tell me how pretty his coat is etc..

and he knows it.

We'd appreciate it if you'd continue taking that attitude. Generalizing it to the whole forum, perhaps?

Fran: it's true. I give Bay special treatment because she's the prettiest. So does Courtney. We've even admitted it openly. She's not the best behaved (she may be the worst of the bunch) but she's so freaking cute that she gets everything.

Not me, call me superficial, but if I had a choice BTW keeping my looks ... or being fugly but not having the issues I have with ADHD, ODD and anxiety, I will keep my pretty, ****ed up self lol
I guess I don't see why this attitude is so contriversial? People trade health for beauty all the time. Plastic surgery is risky, both during the actual procedure and the complications. Tanning can cause cancer. Both of these things are putting your health at steak specifically for the sake of beauty (yes, I know there are medical and reconstructive reasons for plastic surgery, but I talking about elective). Let's not even get started on the bizarre diets people try.

And honestly, I think I'm what you'd call "plain," and I really don't think I'm all that vain, but if someone was like, "Well, we will take away all the mental issues you have, BUT we are going to randomly give you a different face (ugly or not)," the answer would be a resounding "Thanks but no thanks."

Definitely true for dogs! Cobain gets the royal treatment all the time. I was told once by the manager at a local drug store that he was allowed to break the "no dogs" rule there :p

I think Rigby's ridiculous looks tend to hold him back from some of the perks of life. :p

"Everyone loathes my attitude and point of view so I'll step back a bit" was such a breakthrough.

Color me disappointed. I really thought you were learning.
I was referencing that you seem to have a problem with every post that I make. Like the fact that I wouldn't trade my looks for a "healthy" mind? Why is that a bad thing?
