We've been feeding Canidae Pure Sky grain free, but they use Diamond's plants so we've moved away from that brand. We just switched to Evo red meat. On the package it says that it's formulated for all life stages but they recommend feeding a different food to large breed puppies.
I'm curious if I need to worry about feeding Murray, our 3 mos old lab/shepard mix puppy, this food. It's protein is 42%, is this too much for a growing puppy? Would this make him grow too fast harming his joints?
If this isn't a good food, what would you recommend that's a grain and chicken free alternative for him. I've been looking at the different foods and I'm finding that I'm a little confused on the protein aspect of this for a young puppy.
