I am an avid People Magzine reader. I am not a celebrity freak, but I love reading the stories and seeing what is going on in celebrity and "regular" people's lives.
Well, today I saw a pic of Hilary Duff with a Chi. We all know Paris Hilton has a Chi, Lindsay Lohan has her desinger Malti-Poo along with Jessica Simpson's. Blah blah blah. But in the same magazine, it shows pics of these same celebrities partying and everything. But no dog in sight... Where are these poor dogs being placed while their money hungry spoiled rotten parents are out getting plastered??

They're most likely being kept at home with their "pet sitters".

I have seen some of those people with their dogs, and it is obvious by the way they are handled that the people are not committed to their pets. It's just another fashion accessory to most of them.

Hilary Duff to me seems as if she just wants everyone to think she's cool, and she thinks she's super cool. She probably wants to be like everybody else - carrying around a teensy tiny little mill dog with her.

Gaddy I agree.. Hilary Duff is kind of a "sterotypical" teenager if you ask me.. Having little teensy dogs is a new trend and she picked up on it to look cool. Who knows if she even wanted the dog!

She just seems so full of herself to me....I heard she has three dogs, all rescued from the shelter, which is good. Maybe she got her little chi from a shelter, but I doubt it, with all these celebrities buying them from "breeders" :(.

If I were a celebrity I'd have my big ol Sibe lumbering along next to me instead of carrying a lil poorly bred rug rat. A lot of celebrities hire people to care for their dogs or they keep them in pet hotels/doggy day camps. Although ther e are some celebrities who really do take their dog everywhere ith them because they actually love their dog. When my brother was an extra for a movie he got to look after this one actress's (forget which one - she was the main character though) pup for er while she was on set. And when off the set she'd go strolling around to have some quiet tme with her pup.

Well, in the same magazine I will read quotes from these actresses saying, "My next accessory will be a Pug." Or something similar. I am like, so what are they going to do when the dog goes "out of style" in 2 years??" You can't give it to the thrift store like clothes. In 5 or 6 or 10 years, "Tinkerbell" will still need a momma.
But in all honesty, and as much as I dislike her as a person, I think Paris Hilton really does care for her dog. When she was stolen, she had huge billboards made saying that there was a reward because this dog is like her child. It was then of course returned. But, I don't know. I hate Lindsey Lohan and Jessica Simpson. They are both the types of girls that just do what is "in." Right now, Malti-Poo's are "in." Sooo, they both got them from Wizard of Claws. Wow, this subject just really ticks me off.

Well,
DeNiro doesn't carry his around like a purse though. You know? I mean, I am just talking about the ones who carry them around and actually admit that the poor dog is an accessory. The way Robert DeNiro seems, is that he would actually take very good care of the dog and if he wasn't around, that he would make sure it was in the best hands. But that's only my opinion. It's not like I know him or anything.

I think the celebs who get the bigger dogs actually put thought and effort into it. I was watching some Mutt competition on Animal Planet a while back and it had a bunch of smaller celebs out there as judges and a bunch of them would talk about their dogs and how they got them from rescue and were about to get another one from the rescue dogs that were present there that day.

"Reese" from "Malcom in the Middle" has a chihuahua, but it looks like he actually likes the dog and isn't following a trend. But again, I don't know him so I can't say for sure.

Ya, some celebs just tick me off, with their "I want a tiny dog to put in my purse" attitude. I was watching The Dog Whisperer, and Ceaser was helping these two boys with their Chi. And the reason they got a Chi? Because Paris Hilton has one, and they wanted on to dress up and take places with them. So they got online and had a Chi "in like two hours". They never did any training with the dog, and they always dressed it up and put it in a bag when they went out. Ugh. So basically, they wanted a Barbie.

Doesn't like Chris Webber (basketball player) like dogs?

I havent heard about most of those people, but I absolutly HATE Hilary Duf.She does only want her dogs as an accesory, and she will get them back to the shelter once that "season" is over!:mad::mad:If you get a dog, they should actually bond with them and take care of it, take it for walks in any spare time you've got!I sire hope those clebs have been looking at this thread!

No, we're saying that they buy their extremely small, unhealthy dogs from puppy mills (www.stoppuppymills.org), and only get them for the reason of being like everybody else.

And I agree Hilary Duff isn't that good of an actress...she seems so fake...haven't really heard of her songs so...
