I have had some females that bred on their 8th day and some that didn't until their 15 day. Unless the dogs tied, I doubt if she did get pregant, but don't take any chances. They usually don't get interested in the male until they're ready to mate, but some are playful and "horny" the whole heat. For breeders, it's a patient wait ,try and see. I had two gentlemen Goldens who would only show interest when the female was ready and one I had to give permission ! A good tie can last 10 to 20 minutes. It's important for the breeder to postion the male after the breeding until the un-tie to maake sure there will be no hart to either dog. Breeding should never be for family fun, education for the kids or hope to make a few bucks. Both males and females should be checked out to rule out any problems that could be passed on, never breed on the 1st heat and wait until the female is at least 2 years old. Then, be prepared to to spend a lot of time and money on the puppies. (Starting 1st with the female within 12 hours after what you think was the last pup...the 1st of many vet calls. Time wise, many hours a day HAVE to be spent for a one on one with each pup for early socialization .This goes on for 7 weeks....the recommended time for pups to go to their new home. Good luck! Keep us posted!!
