No she wasn't. For people who work in rescue and shelters it's very hard to see anything past what you see every day at work, the misery and helplessness that you have to endure. But it can also mean that you get weighed down by what you experience and come down on others unnecessarily hard for things that aren't really deserving of it.

She saw a cute puppy, and wanted to share. She's not going to buy it, and doesn't believe in pet stores, in fact has one dog from a shelter. That's it, nothing more - lighten up, I know it's hard when you see what you see every day, though.

I just think it would be easier on everyone who posted they play with the dogs at pet stores to go to the shelter instead, those dogs/cats need socilization as well not to mention it would be less tempting to buy a puppy.

(although you would probably want to start with a rescue or a no kill/low kill shelter).

I know here at our shelter we are always begging for people to do what the OP and several people on this thread do which is spend time with the animals, and socialize them.

I know although I never would I would be tempted to buy a dog if I went to the petstore to play with dogs once a week. They are in sad conditions, we only have 1 store that sells dogs in the area (thank goodness), I went in there a couple times before I realized where the dogs came from and the dogs were kept in such small areas they couldnt turn around. I really need to call the animal control for their city.
