Blondie was born on January 2nd, 2004 and he had 1 brother and 3 sisters. They were all bought from the breeder, and my mother knows 2 people who also got puppies, they work at the same hospital as she does. She often asked about the puppies, how they were doing and we found out the other male also got ehrlichia mad: nasty ticks) but he's also doing fine now.
We recently found out the female dog is being given away because nobody at home wants to take care of her anymore. They say they all work and don't have time to spend with her, besides she does "messes" all over the house and they're tired of dealing with it. That broke my heart and I immediately asked my parents if we could adopt her. She's Blondie's sister, so I consider her family!! Her name's Princess and they say she looks just like Blondie.
My dad doesn't want to have another dog but I don't really care what he thinks because he doesn't make the big decisions at home and I have almost conviced my mom to take the girl in. I'm sure she's going to be terrific company for Blondie, and it's sweet that they're brother and sister!
Now I would like some advice from you, because I'm also worried. If we adopt the girl, I mean it's been over a year Blondie's been with us and he's the baby. He's used to be spoiled and the only one around. He's afraid of other dogs, and has never been comfortable around other puppies. I'm afraid he won't want to share his room or toys, he doesn't think he's a dog! Maybe he will think we got him a puppy or something, I just want them to get along fine! Of course I'll have the girl fixed if she's not, and will take care of fleas and ticks before bringing her home. I'd also like to know if it's better to keep her away from Blondie in case she has some infection or disease that I don't want him to get... Could you please help me with some ideas? Thank you!
