To me the stopping the use of one is purely a parenting thing. If Beverly doesnt do what my brother and I did and jsut drop them one day at around one. Hers will disappear when I deem it necessarry (after teething). And no amount of crying or fussing will change that. She will prolly cry for a few days but after that she will be fine and no worse for wear. If the parent doesnt stop or discourage the behavior then Im sorry the blame is on the parents.
I agree...

although it kind of cracks me up to hear people say "You should try to find out why your child is crying." While I agree that you should try feeding, changing, burping etc etc before just sticking a paci in her mouth to shut her up... despite popular belief.. babies don't always cry for a reason lol. hannah cries sometimes just because she is grumpy. She doesn't want to eat, she doesn't need changed, maybe she wants to sleep but WON'T and I can't force her into sleep lol, sometimes she just WANTS to be cranky. Sometimes she can't find sleep on her own or fights it to the end lol... a binky helps her concentrate on something else OTHER than fighting sleep and will usually drift off lol.

Thank you. She is amazing and I'm lucky as heck to have her in my life. I don't regret it in the least.

OMG we went through that last night with monkey toes here. I tried everything and my mom tried everything short of feeding her and she jsut kept crying so we gave her, her paci and she spit it out a few times until she relized that is what she wanted.
lol cute pics... I love how they always have the "I surrender" arms going on when they sleep. Too cute.
Oh it is cute until they hit sensitive chest areas :yikes: She has a habit of doing that when we are laying on my bed.

wait till you wake up and find her turned around lol. hannah likes to turn herself sideways in her crib and every so often will turn 180 degrees so her head is where her feet used to be lol. No wonder I can't sleep with her lol.

AHHH to be a baby... must be nice to sleep that soundly don't ya think lol

AWWW!!!!! I haven't been on in awhile, been busy hauling clothes to my mom's house to wash, the river is way up behind the house and we need to have the septic tank pumped out very soon, so haven't been washing clothes here.
You actually have to teach some babies how to suck on a paci. Maggie wouldn't take one and nursed alot instead, but they told me you can't overfeed with breastmilk. Cadie had colic and my mama got her to take a paci. She still takes one but only at nap and bedtime. And I mean right before we sit down to rock.
Oh and the hair thing is definitely true, I took Maggie's sock off to bathe her one time and she had one of my hairs wrapped around her toe and it was bright red!! It freaked me out. What if it wolud have been tighter and I wouldn't have been bathing her?

Beverly is such a CUTIE PIE!!!
