Ok, I've come to a conclusion. I've had many dogs and have given them full body massages. The chest seems to be the best spot! I just gave one to Hunter, but when I got to his chest, he totally turns into butter with his eyes closed. I've noticed that with the others, too. So, if you want to give some luvin' to your babies, just lay them down and do a chest massage on them. Right below their throat and down to where their legs start. You'll see what I mean! :D

Yup, it turns them into mush! "lol" I found that it come in handy while I'm grooming a dog that's stressed out. I just have to find the perfect scratching spot on the chest and it usually calms them down.

Mine like it; O'Reilly LOVED it. Bimmer and Kharma's favorite thing though is to have a good scratch across the back, just above their tails. Both of them (Kharma learned it from Bimmer  ) will back up to us and start swaying back and forth on their back legs and moaning until they get their butts scratched

secret doggy favorite start scratching lightly about the place where the collar is on the back..gradually scratch up toward like you are scooping the skin up with your fingers towards the ear very slowly somewhere inbetween the ear and the collar the dog will close his eyes..(every dog i have ever touched) lean in to it and love it! don't know how else to explain it

Smkie, I've never had a dog that didn't love that but I agree with EliN !! That's how I used to relax my pups for grooming , trouble was they usually went to sleep !

Yup OC loves that spot too, as well as the spot just before his tail starts.

Now here's the reason why they like it (according to the book "Illustrated Dogs")...it triggers responses that would be triggered if a dog were mating or preparing to mate, so it is especially responsive in male dogs. If this is the real answer or not, well one can only guess but it sounds reasonable.
