I've been having a h*ll of a time potty training Smudge. He knows where to go, he goes every time I set him on grass, he holds his poop well, holds his pee when crated.. Leaves often random little puddles of pee when he's free. Caught every potty oops to date taken him out mid pee.. But it's frequent little puddles.. So I'd taken to crating him more so maybe he'd get used to the feeling of not emptying his bladder so often.. As he'd pee outside I'd bring him in to play and then we'd have another small accident..
Well he had two oopses on light carpet tonight after a few days of being over vigilant and no accidents.. and both had blood spots. Cider got one as a puppy.. I think it was from wearing diapers and then continuing to wear them when wet for a while till someone noticed (wasn't a dog person no idea how to potty train she wasn't my dog then).
Mentioning this new realization that it would seem he has a uti, people tell me I'm crazy as it's apparently not common in males.. I'm going to try to catch a pee sample in the morning and see if the vet can fit me in..
But does anyone have any thoughts or experience with this in the meantime? I feel bad for him.. I'm getting over the first and only uti I've ever had and now I feel doubly bad for him..
