Never even heard of them! Part of me would love to see if Meg would actually hunt. Most of me is more worried that someone would screw up and shoot her or something, and I would have to spend time in jail for homicide.

It's a sanctioned "hunt", as in controlled, but there is no taking of game in these tests, just treeing the varmints.

Sounds like something Collies would be good at! :lol-sign:
We're running out of things they can do due to my health issues. The terrier racing requires no effort on my part, so the little guys are happy, but the collies are rally and agility dogs and I can't do that right now. We're conditioning for their CAT (Coursing Ability/Aptitude Tests in both UKC and AKC) - that's our next goal, but the hunting titles would be fun. :)

...can't they only compete if they are curs and/or feists? or have i been seeing it wrong, like, forever?

ETA: I read your post... I'm just confused. lol. go for it - you'll have the first dogs with SQCH titles that AREN'T of the cur/feist variety, I think..?

It could be that they didn't clarify, but "all UKC recognized breeds" is pretty open!! :p

The little terriers probably share common ancestors with the feists, so should be naturals. But I've seen my Collies tree squirrels and they're pretty darn good! (These aren't your couch potato variety collies ..._.
