Depends who the breeder is. Did they test the parents for genetic problems before they bred? Do they xray the spine (French Bulldogs are prone to spinal problems)? Can you see the parents, or at least the mother?

Health is absolutely paramount when buying a puppy. The last thing you want is to bring a puppy home and have to pay out lots of money in vet bills later on because the breeder didn't do things right.

You should be able to see proof of the testing. Don't except them saying "yes we vet check/health check our dogs" or "our dogs are healthy" or "our dogs never have problems". Ask for proof, if they don't want to give it...walk away.

Does your breeder have a website? If he does I'd like to see it to help you determine if the breeder is good and therefore if the dog is to standard.

The dog is french so bouledogue.

http://www.cucciolino.it/

That's the site.
Gut instinct on that website?

I wouldn't buy your puppy from there.

It looks like a commercial enterprise, and the "breeders" are breeding dogs to make as much money as they can.

You have no guarentee on health problems, and you don't know HOW the puppy was raised.

I'd recommend not buying that puppy :(

It may take a bit longer, but start hunting about for a breeder who has their name in the french bulldog world as reputable, honest, and does the best for their dogs.

Have you tried a french bulldog rescue organisation - they often have puppies and young dogs in there too.

I would never buy from that breeder either. The fact that they have 9 breeds is a big red flag. :( You said it's in French, right? I tried to translate the page in Babelfish but it didn't work.

I wouldn't buy a puppy there either... it just looks like a big commercial. And I really don't like how it looks there either... has the flair of a pet store crossed with a BYB.

would i buy from that site? NEVER, that is 100% no doubt either a mill or broker site (an online puppy store) would i buy the frenchi you pictured? probably not, she doesnt look quite what id want to see in a frenchie.
i dunno what it is, shes very cute, but i just thing theres something not quite right.
the forehead looks MUCH too high.

if youd like help finding a GOOD frenchi breeder please let us know where your located and what your looking for in a frenchie, theres lots of people on this forum that would be more than happy to help you find a GOOD breeder.

Definately do NOT buy from that place.

If you don't mind looking outside your country There is a French Bulldog Club in Switzerland, I don't know if that's easier than looking for a breeder in France or not. But here is the site. You can email them to find breeders.
http://www.suisse-bully.ch/

The Italian Kennel Club doesn't list Frenchies in their breeder list, but you could contact them anyway and see if they know of any.
http://www.enci.it/

The French Bulldog club in france has a website here http://www.cbf-asso.org/ .

It's possible, if you contact the French or Swiss French Bulldog clubs they may be able to give you some help finding a Frenchie in Italy. I'm sure there are good breeders there, they just may be difficult to find.

Good luck! :D
