Such a gorgeous litter!
You are truly a braver woman then me! I could never handle seeing those gorgeous little flaps going under the knife! Then again, could be why I own natural eared and tailed dogs! LOL!

I agree with you though, Sizzles dogs ears are nicely done.

Neat pups !!! I understand cropping for show purposes , but I sure love natural ears !!! Some are just too long and pointy for me .

Sooooo adorable!

I think I've asked you this before, but, are you using the built in flash that is on the camera?

Thanks everyone!

That's how I feel about some "natural" ears... too long and floppy for me, lol. I'd own Dobermans regardless, but I've seen too many ear injuries on floppy dogs to ever truly like them (hematomas, huge splits on the ends from shaking, etc)

Not anymore. I got an SB600 about a month ago now. :)

Ohh okay! I kept trying to figure out if it was editing or something, because they look amazing and I knew the built in flash wouldn't produce pictures like that.

Beautiful shots!

Thanks! I love it. You definitely can't really get the same results with the built in flash. I tried a million different ways, and eventually just gave up and only took pictures inside if the dog was absolutely still and I could get away without using my flash. Some of these pictures are a little off colour wise as I was having trouble finding the proper settings to deal with the pups' heat lamp, but overall I like them. :)

Nope, both parents are black, but carry red (or one does anyway -- not quite sure how genetics work!). :)

Gah, baby Dobe pics KILL me... I got Saga when she was 9 months, so I never got to see her when she was a baby. I'm SO jealous you get to see your pup when he is such a little bean.

Both. Red (liver/brown) is recessive, so the pups have got to recieve a copy from each parent.

Why do I keep coming back to this thread? I can't have one. *repeatedly slams head against keyboard*

You actually just made a good point and got me thinking. I am hesitant to own a floppy eared breed because of the issue of dampness in the ears. I much prefer prick eared dogs, both look and health wise.
I have always been anti crop (for myself, not going to try and stop others) but I see now how it can make some sense.
