Hehe I wondere if this would ever come up. I''m sorry it offends but it is my opinion and just liek everyone else, I am entitled to it. Now here''s my justification:
Dogs were originally domesticated and bred because they were/are useful to mankind. Different breeds were developed to serve different purposes and the idea of ""lap dogs"" wasnt developed until much later. So through this, dogs that have a job and serve a purpose to us in some way (yes Brattina, this does include Missy from what you have described!) are ""real"" dogs, and those who are really nothing more than decoration...well...at least someone loves them
I dont call them ""fake"" though
So I guess in a way, it is like that quiche comment....
And for those who remain offended even after I have justified it should either learn to be less sensitive, or perhaps get up and find a job for their dog to do Admittedly though, I can see how the quote would offend if it isnt understood which is why I am actually happy that someone brought it up.

Every post past this one has been a back pedal, even with the backhanded compliments. You are basing your sig on your definition of work, not anybody elses. You even added it knowwing it would offend, nice of you.

And another thing: Dogs use us worse than we use them. I think we're the REAL workers. Do you know how much money and resources, how many acres of land are used to grow food for dogs....what is spent on dogs in the US alone? It's definitely a parasitic sort of relationship. If it continues long enough, if you stretch out the time in evolutionary terms, dogs could cause us to go extinct.
Someone was looking for mauve. I don't have mauve in stock, but I have one mocha and a sort of azure/cloud grey available for lease....about the size of a small, decorative throw pillow. When you're ready to re-decorate, you can send them back if undamaged. We can swap or create a pyramid scheme.

Of course my dogs have jobs. Radar is a champion bed warmer and Lilly has is earning points towards her champion eater title. Both are excellent at cleaning the floor, especially if a little meat sauce drips. Much more sanitary then letting salmonella breed there!
Not to mention the yard work. Between the picking up sticks, eating bugs and fertilizing the grass for free, they work all the time.=!

Sada, that picture has sold me.. what a lovely decoration you have!!! But you know, after seeing him, I have to wonder... if you're getting rid of such a beautiful ornament, is there something wrong with it? Besides simply being a decoration, of course.
