What caused you to buy/adopt your purebred dog over a crossbred? What caused you to buy/adopt your crossbred dog over a purebred? Are you interested in owning another dog breed(s)? Why or why not?
I am interested in listening to what they have and why they have it. I was jogging today and I noticed that I had two border collies, this other lady had to black labs, a man had three whippets, a couple had two german shepards, another woman had two goldens, and so on. Everyone seemed to have two of the same breed. I didn't stop to talk to anyone besides the old man with the Whippets. There was only one person who had two dogs of different breeds. One was a mutt (looked like a germanxlab) and the other was a lab.
I thought about this on the drive home. Why when you own a dog that you love you feel like you must have another one of the same breed? Is it because you like the breed traits or hope that another dog of that breed will be excatly like your other dog? Some people only own one dog breed all of there life. Do you think those people are missing out not sharing their home with another breed or do you think they've just found what they consiter the perfect dog?
I know this is kind of silly but it really struct me as something odd watching everyone with matching dogs today.
