I really hate gate guarders at dog parks.

A woman sitting next to the gate with her 2 huskies and a shepherd looking mix watched as her dogs jumped on and barked in the faces of my 2.

I told her, absolutely stone faced that her dogs were going to get bitten if they kept that rude behaviour up.
Probably not the best method, I could have probably handled it better. It did get the point across. She kept her dogs away from mine and actually walked around with them.

I went at 6:45 on a Monday morning to avoid this sort of stuff.

This isn't a vent or a musing... It's a sigh.

I'm 98% positive Keeda broke her toe. It's swollen to twice it's normal size. Vet said first appt is tomorrow at 3:10pm. I took the appt but am considering the ER. Idk. I'm dead broke and while she limps & holds her paw up she's still getting around when she needs to but she mostly sleeps all day anyway?

I finally made a decision regarding Dog #2. Yep, a firm decision. Breed, breeder, gender, even color.

The deciding factor was meeting a dog of one of the breeds on my list at the BAT seminar I just attended. She was just so...perfect, in every way. I just thought, Why am I fighting this? I've met so many dogs of so many different breeds, and talked to so many owners and breeders and trainers, but this is it, the one breed I've been wanting since I first met one at my friend's house when I was a preteen. The dog leapt up and bopped me right in the nose (my eyes welled up), and my friend's mom said "sorry, she's kind of obnoxious," and I thought omg this is the perfect dog! Apparently, I haven't changed. The other deciding factor was meeting a dog from another breed I liked, and realizing that what was so tantalizing on paper just wasn't doing it for me in real life...very surprising, I thought I would LOVE the dog and she just wasn't what I was looking for, and she came from very respectable lines so while she's not representative of her entire breed, I think it was a good snapshot of what they can and can't be.

I still might wind up with a rescue dog, that's just how my life is gonna be, but it feels nice to be more decisive after all this agonizing :D

Also we have a fly in my house and it is causing Mia to launch off of the couch to try to eat it. Mildly amusing.

If I wasn't so mad at her.

Oh god, I have to kill any flies that get in the house or Feist makes it her life's mission to kill them. And she doesn't care what she knocks over or breaks or how she lands from a ridiculous jump, because THERE IS A FLY.

This fly is HUGE. I'm pretty sure it's a mutant. Or a horsefly and I hope it's not a horsefly.

Mia goes berserk after them though too. On the plus side... endless entertainment for her. Downside? Sometimes a papillon comes flying at you and snapping its teeth your direction.

I took a video of her when she was 1 year old chasing a fly around the kitchen. She was launching herself into walls trying to get it. That can't be sane.

YEP WELCOME TO KIMMA. She also doesn't seem to understand the concept of windows when she's in that mode. She thinks windows do not exist and/or that she can go through them.......

Eden broke her toe a couple summers ago and they couldn't do anything for us but some pain killers and crate rest. Corgi cankles are un-splintable.

Is that just corgis? Keeda has a very slim and long body... Ankles, paws, & toes included. I know they often won't splint non-weight bearing... But this one IS a weight bearing toe.

In anycase no ER. They charge $150 just to walk in the door... I wouldn't be able to afford them.

Argon snapped one of his toe bones in half a few years ago (he's been gone for almost 2 years. How is that possible?). The break was too far down to surgically fix, so they ended up slinting him for 6 weeks. It healed nicely

Cajun woke me up 3 times last night to poop.

Cajun ate her $55 bed that I just bought a couple weeks ago.

Cajun was a completely disobedient asshat at the park today.

NOT ENJOYING HER TODAY.

Lola is also part of this special little club. She too is not above smashing into walls after bugs,

Lo does catch them, but it's only after 20 minutes of smash hulk, frustration howling and flailing around after it.

And then I saw Lucy go after a fly yesterday. She just stalked it, stood very still, and then just opened her mouth and swallowed it as it flew by unsuspecting. The difference in tactics between them is hilarious.

I need a mooshy derpy herdy boy puppy. So bad.

I do not think holding my friend's pup for about thirty minutes tonight helped. I think it made it worse.

So squishy and floppy and sweet as can be.

Her leather leash is unusable already.

Should have gotten the EL rope. There goes the $30 bucks of my remaining allowance >.> All I have left is a grungy volunteer leash that's probably covered in germs.

If it's a faulty product, can you contact the seller and ask for a free replacement or refund? A leather leash should last a long time.
