My dad and 2 aunts live down in Noblesville and apparently Kroger was crazy and almost entirely out of meat. DH went to our Kroger up here a couple of hours ago and said the pasta aisle was picked clean and there were tons of people there.
Really? I live in Fishers! You should let me know when you're visiting :)

Well, I went to Kroger tonight and it was, erm, interesting:

Cold cuts section:

Bread aisle:

I think we're supposed to get anywhere from 8-14inches... And then there's the splendid high of -16F for Monday. My office already announced a delayed start, I'm hoping we'll get a whole snow day.

Edit: Holy snowman b@lls! Sorry for the huge mildly at best interesting pics.

Oh geez, poor baby :( <3 What a horrible scare, I'm just glad you were able to take care of her and she ended up okay. Lots of healing and loving thoughts for Fable!!

How's she doing now?
<3 <3 <3
She's doing okay. She has more energy, has most of her appetite back, and is getting into trouble again, which is always a good sign! She looks so bad, though. Like I said in the other post, she's so so skinny, and also her coat looks like crap for whatever reason.
I want to share updated pictures of her, but I'm so afraid someone is going to accuse me of starving her or something if I post pics of her as she is now. On one hand, that seems paranoid, but on the other hand, I know of that happening on dog forums to people who take damned good care of their dogs. . .Maybe some head shots?
Oh no..is that that Valley fever?? :(
No, thank god! It was such a relief to find that out. Especially since someone I know had a dog who lost his fight with valley fever less than a week ago. :(
Satin balls are on the top of my priority list, and second is one of those bowls that prevent dogs from eating too fast. Actually, if anyone could direct me to a good one I would be very grateful!
Along with a great deal of mucous, an alarming amount of dog food was in her lungs! She was literally inhaling her food. As of now I'm giving her mouthfuls to eat one bit at a time to prevent what was happening before.

Wow, that's scary! Logan has one from Walmart, it was around $3. It might be too big for her if she has a small muzzle to get in the spaces, though, and I don't remember if they had them in different sizes.

I was at Petco the other day and they have SO MANY different ones. I wanted to buy all of them, but they're also expensive. But for something like THAT, probably beyond worth it!

My vent: WHY do stores stop selling cold weather gear on January 1st?! It makes no sense! All I wanted was a pair of gloves but NOOOO, its's JANUARY, bring on the swimsuits!

Apparently there's no lunch meat, bread, or hamburger meat in our town grocery stores either, and the produce section was decimated. I have no idea though, because I went shopping yesterday afternoon on my lunch break. I specifically had to find some things I could eat in case the power goes out, but luckily we aren't expecting ice, just a buttload of snow. But just in case...

They keep pushing back the start time of the snow. Was supposed to be 6pm, then 1:30am, then 3:30am, currently it says 4:15am. But they haven't reduced the amount we're supposed to get. Minimum of 8"... upward from there. My city is specifically called out in the warning as right along the line where the most snow will fall. Aaaaaawesome.

The worst part is we can't just bury ourselves inside and stay put, because my grandma still hasn't sold the stupid apartment building we all want her to sell, so if it snows, Dad and I have to risk our lives and get in my dad's truck and drive over there, down roads that will not be plowed, to shovel the apartment building out. Because my grandma thinks the apartment building will be "a nice inheritance someday" even though NONE OF US WANT IT. So every. ****. time. it snows. When the cops are telling people DON'T GO OUT. STAY OFF THE ROADS. We have to go out.

And on top of that my grandma went to the doctor yesterday because she's been having some health issues, and the doctor ordered a chemical stress test and then an angiogram and told her DON'T DO ANYTHING. And even though he told her that, when she got home, the snow we have right now had drifted onto her driveway... so she decided to get the snow shovel and shovel the driveway. W.T.F.
My aunt called my dad and told him all this and was then like "If it snows really bad I won't be able to get out of my house to check on her (normally my aunt comes over and eats dinner with her almost every night), so you'll have to do it, and be prepared to have to take her to the hospital if something goes wrong." Um, first, don't you mean be prepared to CALL 9-1-1??? Secondly, maybe you should just stay over at your mom's house... so you will be in the perfect position to stop her from doing anything stupid to put her health at risk, as well as be able to call 9-1-1 yourself should you need to.... with the added bonus of the fact that they WILL plow out the street my grandma lives on - it's a bus route, so it's guaranteed to get plowed - which means if you want to go somewhere, you'll eventually be able to do so much faster than if you stayed at your house on your street which they never plow!! Why is this not the first thing you thought of??

Not looking forward to this at all.

Jack totally inhales his food, so I got him the neon green bowl pictured above. On the first usage when he was having to really work to reach the last kibbles he did figure out he could pick the bowl up and just dump it. However, he's a retriever and tends to pick up All The Things, so that could just be him.

Wow, Sael, that's a ton of bowls! I've been looking around and I'm relieved there actually are a ton of them around. I thought they'd be harder to find. Thank you!
And yes, this is something I will very happily throw money at. I knew she's always been a fast eater and she has been a resource guarder from the day I brought her home, but I had no idea the extent of the consequences of her fast eating.

Hmm, that's something I didn't think about. I just really hope Fable doesn't do that. I'll have to be careful to choose a bowl that slows down eating but at the same time doesn't have such small areas she'll get frustrated.

Why do you have to suck after all?
I just wanted to play a game
I don't understand, what is the aim
Of shutting down without warning me
Avast, keep doing this and you're history.

Apparently, when I scheduled a scan last sat. and wanted the comp to shut down afterwards, it decided to do this on all Saturdays. And because my laptop sucks about shutting down and starting up (I rarely shut it down anymore), it will not turn on again... Even after resetting it 20 times.

I had been downloading an Origen game too, for like three days because my Internet sucks. If I have to start this crap all over again, I'm going to be so angry.

When I was a kid, we had a dog that would pick his normal bowl up and dump his food everywhere. My parents bought, like Quik-Crete, or something, and just filled the underside of the bowl with it. Solved that problem

My game keeps freezing. *cries* Dammit!!! 22 hours of my life lost. And I was halfway through the game and really don't want to start over, so it looks like I won't be finishing Revelations. Ugh ugh ugh ugh. I've tried everything to get it to fix itself, including removing and reinstalling the game. Dang it!
