Shannon, when is the specialty? We aren't leaving until late Feb/early March!

Sparks, I don't want to go into detail, but the people we are living with are not as kind as when Rick left them. Additionally, I didn't realize just HOW suburban it was here... my PTSD isn't responding kindly to it.

Also, I miss my other animals. And LAC and xpaenex.
are there any more outlying areas you might like to live, like have you looked at North Bend? can you bring the rest of your pets over to stay with you? :(

I do not want to stay here. That's why it's in the good news thread. My other pets are family pets, so no.

Everything in CT I left is waiting for me. My clients, my friends, my pets, my hobbies... I don't have anything here. Looking at our long term goals, makes way more sense just to go back, even if my family isn't always pleasant.

I'll miss Katey, Abe, and Zoey, but that's it.

I've been cooking my own meals pretty much since I was allowed to use the stove. For many many many years. I just don't eat the same foods as my parents, especially within the last year and a half since going mostly primal, so I just always cook my own food. Sometimes I will make something and my mom will ask if she can have some; on a rare occasion she will make something I'll eat. One thing I've always loved, something my whole family used to love and one of the only meals we'd really eat as a family, was spaghetti and meatballs. My mom HATES to make it because you cook the meatballs in a frying pan with oil and the oil gets everywhere and makes a big mess with lots of dishes, but she will still make it sometimes because we all like it. Unfortunately, the meatballs are made with an egg-soaked pieces of bread mixture, so it went on the "cannot eat" list after I realized gluten was making me sick.

Well, I just came home from work a bit ago. She works for a school so she's been off work since last Monday and today too, so this afternoon she apparently made spaghetti and meatballs for my dad. While making them, she set off a big chunk of the meat mixture to the side BEFORE adding the bread mixture... and she made me meatballs without the bread. Just for me.
And I really really REALLY didn't want to cook dinner tonight, too.

My mommy is awesome <3

:) Nice of her! I never did like bread in meatballs/meatloaf. I use rolled oats instead. I'm pretty sure Bob's Red Mill is certified gluten free if you're interested in trying something else! And now I'm hungry.

I had a super awful day. Matt came home, hugged me, gave me a beer, and sent me into the living room to watch Indiana Jones while he makes dinner.

HUNGERGAMES ^

Had a really long stressful day working and then ended up having the best night I've had in a really really really long time. Like seriously. <3 I'm the happiest I've been in so long.

Got an email this morning saying I've been selected to move forward in the hiring process for the job that I've been trying to get for the last six months. Going to be contacted for a DiSC and Winslow work placement assessment by someone via email in the coming days.

I've applied, had an interest phone call, phone interview, 3 hour in person business interview + working interview, had a background check, and driving record check already... I *think* this might be the last step in the process!

Come on 2014... Don't let me down!

Today I switched the sirius at work to Lithium (channel 34, 90s alternative and grunge which is my fave), and customers LOVE the music! Have already had a couple separate people comment on it and say how cool we are. :D My boss always forces us to listen to 70s on 7 or 80s on 8, so I'm stoked bahaha.

I spun out and fish tailed and didn't die this morning. Good news because I didn't die and I also managed to avoid two other cars (though, the one behind me also had to do some crazy driving on nasty ice to stay alive).

Oh, but I did end up in a snow bank. And even snow tires on a Corolla aren't going to get you out of a snow bank when your door barely opens over the snow. As I was calling AAA, two very nice men pulled up and pulled me out.

I'm not a fast and furious driver, especially in the winter, I've lived in the great north snowy land long enough. But I was stupidly driving the speed limit around a corner when the roads are completely ridiculous. If there hadn't been a car in the lane next to me, I likely would have just slid over into the next lane. But because there was a car parallel with me, I tried to correct and avoid him, which I did... and then landed myself in a snow bank.

I'm going to drive like a grandma for the rest of winter.

The end.
