No. I've only ever checked urine on him. What would be a potential concern that would require bloodwork? He's clinically healthy with no other concerns, and he holds it in his crate all day and all night with no accidents in the crate itself (as long as there is no stimulation around), although when he's let out of the crate and is heading outside is a different story.... He really acts like he just hasn't developed full control of his bladder, which I've never had an issue with before with any of my dogs.
The 'differential diagnoses' that were thrown at me when I went through everything with Romeo...renal problems. Diabetes Insipidus. Cushings (not directly diagnosed through standard bloodwork but will throw it off). Liver problems and etc. Yeah it might be turn out just to be an excited pee'r, but I don't think baseline bloodwork would hurt. Romeo had/has urinary issues due to renal problems, had large accidents in the house, and has never had an accident in his crate.
How is his specific gravity on his urine?
On the behavioral side, how is it if when you get home, you chill out for a while until he has calmed down from you coming home? I'm trying to think of what I would do if it were one of mine. I might try and get the focus away from going outside right from the crate...after he has chilled out, let him out and call to heel, have him focus on you while heeling through the house to the door (have some treats in hand), do a few sits, downs..
Maybe put a belly band or diaper on when he goes in the crate, while working on the problem?
