Is there any differences between the miniatures and the toys other than size?

TIA :)

If bred properly and treated the same, there shouldn't.
ditto!

As I said in chat the other night... Elle was supposed to be a toy but is really the size of a mini... sometimes the difference between the two sizes isnt that great.

There is actually a movement now to change the sizes to toy, dwarf, mini, and standard and you will actually find some breeders who size their dogs this way now. The dwarf would encompass dogs like Elle who have sized out of the toy category but seem small when compared to other mini's.

Both sizes can do well at agility or obedience if you were thinking of doing something like that. Poodles are really very smart and can do pretty much anything the owner wants them too as long as the owner puts in the effort.

I am glad to see you doing your research on poodles and preparing for Bella's arrival. ;)

Haha... a crate? Better get some ear plugs as well. As soon as she gets placed in a crate she will start a high pitched wail and will not stop for anything and she can do it for hours. The mini balls she will like though. :)

Why?! I thought Chloe was more into ducks and wubbas and large tennis balls, like the ones that are filling her king sized crate on the other side of the room?! *points to other side of room*

Whoa PW your gonna be very busy!

Are the crates stacked all over your room?! Or did you have to get rid of your bed to make room for all the new additions?

Eh, I just moved Izzy and Frodo to the back porch to make room for the new additions.

I didn't know you're getting a poodle either....I must have missed something.

Well now I'm all excited to see your new little guy/girl.

Another thing on the crate, this is probably not relevant but I thought it was funny. Tilly, my mini, knew had to get out of her crate. The only way for me to make sure she wouldn't get out was to use a clip lock.....she's such a sneaky girl. lol

LOL BP, I'm not surprised considering you didn't even know your own dog was part maltese :p

Giny, if I do end up getting a poodle it will not be for quite a while.
I'm just joking about Bella, who is PM's poodle who I say I'm going to take because she retrieves :D

I like poodles.

When I worked at the grooming place, I would always take freshly groomed mini or toy poodles out of their cages and cuddle them. They were so warm. :D

One thing I always noticed about poodles - they seem to want and need tons of cuddling!

I even had a Standard Poodle in my lap once. :)

I was waiting at the groomers once for my dogs to be done and this woman came in with a Standard... she sat down on the chair and the dog climbed up into her lap... it was the funniest thing I have ever seen :rofl1:

Mollie definitely does. Whenever I'm on my computer in our oversized chair she's always with me. Yesterday I had a pillow there and she couldn't fit, so she sat her butt right on my laptop

Nolu, I'm not averse to letting Chazzers have them, but nobody ever picks them up! :p

Giny, if you don't mind, how difficult and time consuming would it be for a novice to keep a poodle in a clip like this...

I like the clean face, not scruffy, and I prefer a coat like this to a shaved dog.

AWWWWW... and... suuuuuuuure. Ryan and I will take them when we come visit you. Well, actually, we'll take Izzy. I'm not sure I want Frodo. :rofl1:

Hope you get a kick out of cleaning messy pants then. :p

Believe it or not, Frodo is 10x easier to take care of and live with than Izzy.
