Some of you might have seen my post about finding a dog.
http://www.chazhound.com/forums/showthread.php?t=73264

Well I thought everything was going to be so great.... well I find out today that the officer's supervisor told her that she could adopt the dog that it violated "procedure".

So that wonderful little girl dog is now at the "Pound".
Super sweetie
Now we have to wait 7 days to see what happens. They won't adopt dogs out of the "pound" but humane societies and shelters will come in and pick the most adoptable out.

I just feel sick about it. I have made about 20 calls to different rescues and Humane societies, I just hope someone picks he up.

I was running late for work and should have just called in sick and tried to find her a home. My wife would have had a fit but.....

That dog was just so great it would just be an absolute shame to have that dog be PTS.:(

Great, adopting the dog violated procedure; what's next! It's not like the officer wanted to take a prisoner home. She wanted to rescue this dog to give it a good home.

See if you can't "claim" the dog?
I thought about that but my name was on the report being the person who found her and if you file a false missing dog report it is similar to filing a false police report.

I went and took in a care package for her and I found out that the police officer is on the list to be contacted if any rescue group comes in to get her. So she still want to adopt her.

I have called every group in North IL and East and central WI to please look into her.

Just going to pray and stop in a lot and ask questions to make sure they know someone cares about her. The "Pound" is only about 2 miles from my house.

New update.....

I have an least one shelter going into evaluate her and maybe take her out.

I also have a local dog trainer friend going into evaluate her and try to pull out and foster her.

So I got my fingers cross!

I dropped off a bully stick for her today :)

I'm glad to hear somebody is going to evaluate her. Some groups are hesitant to take in many pits because a lot of the time they take forever to be adopted. I know FOHA only takes in a few at a time.

Well tomorrow is her last day on "Hold" and I called the shelter and they say she is doing well. The people are coming in to temp. test her on Saturday.

If you are a praying person.... Dog #A170565 sure could use some prayers.

Sure will !!! After the sadness over not being able to adopt " Andretti " yesterday , we worry about his future . Such a sweet , sweet dog , until the attack on Hunter . Dog aggression is so unnecessary !! It all starts at the whelp .

Good News!!

The local Humane Society has picked her up and she is the "No Kill" section. She will get a home....

The staff was buzzing over her and I know she will have a good home very soon. (fingers crossed)

More updates to follow :D

Another rescue update.....final chapter :(

Well the news is bad....real bad. So much for the "No Kill" section. She was evaluated, passed and everything was supposed to be rosie from here on.

Well from some reason someone reevaluated her and said that she was to dog aggressive and they put her down   :(

I was so angry when I stopped in to ask about her that I couldn't talk. I don't understand how she could pass one evaluation and be moved to the "No Kill" section and then "someone" reevaluates her and "Poof" she is gone.

Right now I am mad, needless death of a very nice little dog, which I believe is largely due to her breed.

I am also very sad because I feel I helped kill her. I should have found her a home myself....but I couldn't miss work so I just turned her in.

I am also extremely disgusted by the whole thing. This dog was innocent, friendly, obedient and never got a name before they killed her.

Thanks for letting me vent......
