Tentative Breeding and Whelping dates

Okay. According to what I have been reading, (this is a great article Canine Ovulation Timing ) when progesterone levels exceed 2.0 ng/ml, this indicates that the LH surge has occured in the past 24 hours.

Yesterday Penny was 2.1. Apparently all events post LH surge are consistent in bitches. This means she will be ready to breed on Wednesday or Thursday. This vet may opt for Thursday since she does not do surgeries on Wednesdays unless it is unavoidable.

That would mean puppies on August 8th or 9th, or POSSIBLY the 7th.

Just in time to squeak them in under the wire for Greenville.
