can i bath my dog every week?

summer is here and every friday morning i take my dog to the dog beach. basically its a strip of beach where other dog owners bring their dogs to socialize. as you can expect my dog gets wet and sandy so when he comes home i bath him.

is that a problem? i know its recommended to bath a dog like once every two months but there is no way he can stay all salty and sandy like that for 2 months. or should he?

Yes you can, as long as you find a GENTLE shampoo without lots of chemicals in it.

Riot is getting bathed once a week because of show season.

If it's just sand and salt, I'd just give him a good rinse with water. And some shampoo every second or third week if you think it's necessary.

Not necessarily a good idea. Your dogs skin and coat has natural, essential oils. BUT, as SummerRiot said, use a gentle shampoo if absolutely necessary.

I'd mainly hose off .... shampoo once a month.

oh ok so the problem is the shampoo. i will try just hosing him off next week and see if that turns out ok. if not i will check amazon to see if they stock any of these "safe" shampoos. i cant order from ebay cuz i dont have paypal..
