Race day!

Last weekend was the CARA iron dog race meet. Bounce and Dash were one on saturday-which made them JUST old enough to race. They prequalified on the the fri night, all dogs must pre qualify in order to run.

there was a saluki.. but none of my pics did him justice.

There were lots of iggys but my lens was manual focus and they were hard to get pics of.

Gorgeous pics. Iggies definitely move too **** fast to get pictures of. I don't think I've ever seen an Iggy stand still for more than a second!!

And OMG that first Thai Ridgeback is GORGEOUS! I have always wanted one. One day, one day . . .

PS: I can't believe there were no pics of Bounce racing!!!!!

Cool pics, expecially the Thai Ridgbacks. I'm curious, what were there temperaments like? Were they friendly or more aloof?

They were aloof. But unlike the other sighthounds (many of which were NOT aloof-the whippets and the saluki were very friendly) they were very drivy.

One of the things that got us meeting all kinds of weird and wonderful breeds is the fact I have the lure coursing gear, and have coursed for lots of different groups/organizations and events. I can even spell some of the breed names now that I had never heard of just 2-3 years ago.

Here and there is an occasional dog that didn't impress me, more so the individual and not the breed though.
