Default cremate

My dog biscuit has recently been put down
and he was cremated however i still have his collar hanging up
and everytime I see it I feel I miss him very much

do you think I should have a special little burning ceremony and burn it along with a few other things I kept because everytime I see them i just get sad

I wouldn't. You are sad now when you see them, but that pain will quiet with time and if you're like me you might find them a great source of comfort in the future. I would tuck them away for now, and maybe take them out as a reminder of your wonderful dog when the pain isn't so raw.

Nilly's right. Those keepsakes will be something you cherish in days to come.

I wouldn't. I lost my Buddy this past summer and we have a keepsake box that has his paw print on the cover along with a photo. Inside we keep his collar, his leash and other mementos.
At first it was very painful to look at, but it is getting better. We also made a leatherbound photo album with our favorite pictures of him. And finally, he has a resting place on our bookshelf... we have our family picture from last year, his ashes in a wooden, engraved box and his memorial card that we had made for some of the people we (and him) were quite close to. Allow yourself to feel the emotions, don't get rid of things that you might wish you had later down the road. ((HUGS))

We have a book shelf with a doggy shrine of our 6 cremated dogs! We have picstures of them, their urns, their collars, their favorite items (well Harry's last tennis ball, Zens wubba toy) and small containers of some clips of their fur (and my moms dog Hannahs nails).

I am very sorry for your loss. I would not burn the collar. Now it may hurt to look at it but one day you will look at it and the fond memories will come back.
