I got an 8 week old Yorkie 2 weeks ago and each time I take him out to the back yard to do his thing, he goes straight for the pond.
The pond is one pre-fab things with waterfall, etc so its not safe for Sam, the puppy to be around on his own, he is too small to get himself out. Every single time I take him outside he goes straight for the pond and teeters on the edge. Well last Friday I was outback with my neighbor and she starts to yell "oh my gosh, he is going to fall in now" and I decided to let him. I was standing right there and sure enough Sam went for it, he dove in and he went all the way under the water. I fished his little 2 lb body out and he had the most shocked look on his little face.
Needless to say, any time Sam passes by that pond now he can not get far away enough from it! Problem solved.
