I love this place already!
My name is Lisa and I'm the proud owner of an 8 month old shih tzu named Loki! It's just me and him and I'm a first time dog owner. I did plenty of research on breeds before deciding which dog was best for me and I did a good job of interviewing breeders before I chose one!
When they said shih tzu's were companion dogs, they were not kidding! Mine is SUCH a companion dog he has no problem following me into the SHOWER (and everywhere else)!
I'm in the process of moving from Chicago to KC (my home town) and I'm really excited that my new place has a large fenced in back yard so Loki can finally run FREE! It's not a luxury we have here at the moment, so he gets two daily walks and a few trips outside for potty aside from that!
I've been watching The Dog Whisperer and have learned a ton from that show, and it's obvious that ME, the owner, needs to be trained and we are going to work on that when we land in our new home!
Loki doesn't have bad behavior, he's just really excitable when it comes to other dogs and people..he just loves everybody! He doesn't understand why everybody doesn't love him as much as he loves them! He has no concept of dogs that are SO MUCH bigger than him. I haven't tried a dog park yet, because on our walks, he gets so excited when he sees another dog that I don't think he's got the "calm around other dogs" under control yet! Here's where I need training!
Anyway, nice to meet everybody!
