Depends on which dog. Cocoa, I would have a very very very very hard time ever giving up. But for some reason I was absolutely incapable of caring for her, I would try first try to get a friend to long-term babysit. If worse came to worse, I would give her up if it was best for her. Though, It'd HAVE to be REALLY bad conditions for me to give her up, as she's very much bonded to me and would have a hard time adjusting to someone else.

Marq, he's used to being moved around alot. I could give him up much easier than I could Cocoa. I've only had him since winter, he didn't grow up with me, etc. I know that he would be able to handle a move better than my other dogs.

Either way, conditions would have to be extremely bad for me to ever consider giving away any of my dogs.

With Zoe we believe that she is MUCH happier where she is and we have no regrets.

Certain dogs are not right for certain people. My husband was bitten as a kid by a larger dog and Zoe constantly jumping up and trying to bite his hands and fingers is not something he could get used to even though she wasnt being mean.

He is just too gentle a person to be able to be firm enough to make her stop so he didnt enjoy her.

The new owners have another lab and understand the breed very well. I explained what we were experiencing and they were not deterred.

When Zoe jumped constantly and tried to chew their fingers they seemed to be able to settle her down better in ten minutes than I could in all the weeks we had her.

They got right down on the floor with her and I could see and feel that they were the family who should have this dog. It was just a gut feeling.

I have kept in touch and I can go and see her anytime and I have their address. Another reason I let her go to these particular people without reserve.

They told me she is doing so well and they love her so much. I think if Zoe (now known as Elly) could, she would thank me.:)
