Winter wear!

Dekka has lots. And hates them all. Things with legs are particularly heinous to her.

Her sweater I like this one, we still have it though it has a hole in it.

One we bought at the Ptbo farmer's market. The velcro doesn't like to stay done up with lots of movement. Still have it, never use it.

This is her old shedrow. She has a new one now. Hands down my fave cold weather coat. More insulation than I have seen on any other coat and she says its the warmest and still lets her move freely.

Trying to find a pic of one of my fave coats. Its also shedrow, its a heavy fleece, almost felt like. No wind gets through it like normal fleece. I use it for fall/layering. Here was Bounce wearing hers.

Now that I work for Greenhawk Dekka and new dog are going to get even more shedrow coats (as you can see I have loved them long before I started working for the company ) They make chilly dog style one that I might get for another fall option. The chilly dog ones aren't warm enough for Dekka for winter. She really feels the cold.

They had a big one ($12.99) at my TJMaxx and a tiny one. I grabbed both, I'm not sure what sizes they are, I just figured if they don't work for my dogs somebody here might want one. Or I will just return them if not because I also bought two pairs of running shoes and definitely at least one will be going back. *whistles*

There were multiple boxes of stock sitting there too but I couldn't really peek through any but the top one to see if there were more. I might swing by again later tonight and see if they unpacked any more. They were both blue. I was sort of wanting a nice red one for Auggie.

Marshalls did have them for $10, but only in 13" and 14" sizes. They had NO coats for medium-large dogs. Wtf.

Ahh that's the size I need! lol. Went into Homegoods today, no Hurtta stuff.

How much does Jackson weigh? I actually picked up the 30cm/12" for Tango and it's a little long on him but he's shaped like a mini sighthound so it's ok in other places.

I think the 12" would be too small. He's 18lbs and about 14" long from base of neck to base of tail. 19" girth.

If the tiny one is too tiny for your dogs... I might be interested (Dekka always could use more coats ) depending on how tiny it is.

The local Marshalls had a few. I grabbed an 11" for Ru and a couple of 20" for the heelers, leaving them with a 17" and a couple of enormous non-insulated neon slickers.

So now I'm definitely going to TJ Maxx and Marshals to find a coat! lol I really need a new one for Art at least, Talon doesn't seem to care much about the cold, though I'll get him omne if they have them for his size just because of the price.

This thread inspired me to go to Marshall's and see what they had, and I got Zobby this really cute fleecy lined sweater;

He loves it. The weather doesn't call for it yet, but it will soon.

leg covers

I so want one of these. Watson doesn't get cold usually (unless it's under 10deg) but the snow balls are so annoying. I might order just the leg cover thingies.

Where can you order just the leg covers? I didn't see em on Hurtta's site.

Last winter in the Mid-Atlantic, it was weeks and weeks of snowballs.

Dekka has her Shedrow coat. I love them so much Super easy to put on, fits pretty much any dog. Insulated and made with high denier outer fabric (horse blanket material) and fairly cheap!

Dekka also has a chilly dog type coat but its not nearly warm enough for her once it gets to about freezing (tiny dog, no body fat)

Schen is so hairy he doesnt' really need much. I do want to get him the hurtta slush combat coat to protect his hair. But I am waiting to see how big he gets first.

Got a second hand Dover Saddlery jacket today, hoping it'd fit Lexi. It's a medium, but I don't think the neck area is big enough, sadly.

Borrowing a cheapo jacket from Meagan I think, and I'll probably end up buying her a Quinzee ruffwear or Cloud chaser if we really get dumped on. She HATES the cold. Even considering leg warmers and/or boots.... Sir needed them and loved them.

Snoop Dogg asked to have his festive holiday sweater put on. It has been a little cold here lately. Stylish and at the same time functional.

Ditte says she feels pretty in this one. I told her she looks great in everything.

I bought 2 as well - color choices at the sizes I wanted were kinda limited but couldn't beat the price! A gal I work with ordered a coat for her beagle, too.

I ordered coats for Rowan, Riff and Linus. Hopefully the sizes were right Linus is 14" long so he's right between sizes... I ordered the bigger one to make sure it fits around his chest, too. I just hope it's not too big.
