He's the bestest because it just doesn't matter to him all the awful things I did while I was learning.
i feel this way about luce, too. i was downright freaking brutal with her about the dog aggression when i first got her, because i didn't know any better. but she always forgave me. she just rolled with it. even though i gave her so many reasons to be distrustful of me, she never has been.

she's also the bestest because she's eeeevil. and because she's hilarious and makes *the* best faces. because she puts up with my costumes and my other forms of gentle torture. because she loves everybody all the time. because sometimes i wake up in the middle of the night with her chin on my neck and her little solid body snuggled up as close as she can get.

she has taught me so much. she truly is my best friend.

Daisy is just the best... for being "my" first dog, and for putting up with everything I've wanted to do with her, and for forming such an amazing bond with me. She's always up for learning new things (even "jump" when it is CLEARLY easier to just walk around the jump...), proving that you certainly can teach an old dog new tricks. Our trainers have said she's got the heart of a border collie, but I think she's just very much her own hound ;) I never thought I could love a goofy little dog this much. She absolutely makes my heart hurt sometimes! I have a hard time believing she'll be my 10 year old basset in May...

Kai came in a time when I needed him the most. After Chouchi passed away, the days without him was excruciating, despite his past behaviors. I missed everything about him and wanted to hold him again. When Kai came along with his adorable little pitty ears, I was finally able to heal.

He is so wonderful, the best ever really. He is all I expected and more. He cuddles, he plays, he is ready for anything, he makes me laugh - and his forgiving nature! I'm positive that nothing I could do to him would make him hate or resent me. He trust me with all his heart and I am blessed to have him by my side.

Summer is absolutely the bestest dog.

She is sweet and adores everyone with all her heart and soul. I have never met a dog that just has such a real love for people- all people and I've never met a dog that could connect so well with people so fast. Summer just wants to be everyone's best friend and so many people fall in love with her.

Summer is the bestest because she gives you her all when you ask her to do something. She really tries her best to work with you. She is so easy to train, it's like cheating.

Summer is the bestest because she's so serious all the time and it's hilarious. Her emotions are just worn all over her. She's like a walking caricature, she's just so expressive. This provides endless laughs a day.

Summer is the bestest because she's quirky. Whether it's her sticking her tongue out or making up her own rules and rituals, she's amusing.

Summer is the bestest because I spent half the morning playing the PS3 with her head resting on my arm and her big brown eyes looking up at me.

When my mom died, Summer never left my side. She really was my reason for getting up and around. She and I are really two peas in a pod. We're together constantly.

Bandit is the bestest dog because he's always able to put a smile on my face. He's always there when I need him. He's loyal, goofy and is great with everyone he meets. I adore him. He's perfect.

Juno's the best because she helped me heal from Molly's death, something I know would have taken a very long time otherwise. She's the best because she's the first "real" dog I've trained (Lucy doesn't count because she's pretty much naturally obedient). She's taught me patience. She makes me DO things with my dogs, if we're not training or playing, she's not content. Even when I want to strangle her, her smiling face and wagging tail make it impossible... lol.

Fudge is the best because when we are on our own we can rely on each other. He looks after me and I look after him. He always knows when I need him most and is always there for me. He never lets anyone I don't trust come near me but then he can lie quietly and play with my young cousins. He is going to be the bestest agility dog evar :D

Oh wow, where to start..

Gus (or should I say Sir Gustav) is the bestest because..

He loves me unconditionally, he's my clown, my number one fan, he's hysterically funny, he's got a wicked sense of humour, when he's happy the whole world is happy and he's truely joyful with his whole being.. He's incredibly clever, and I am sure he reads my mind.

If it wasn't for Gus I would have given up on this life a LONG time ago, he's been my friend, my reason for living, the person who made me get up in the mornings even though it was the LAST thing I wanted to do, he's been my saviour, my pal, my laughter and my sorrow when he was seriously ill.

He's charming and universally loved by all, everyone we meet out walking on a regular basis knows HIS name, but not mine! If I go visiting friends and I don't take him people ask where he is.

He's part of the gang, and truely believes he is human, if people come round and sit at the bar for a drink, so does Gus he will get on a bar stool and join in the conversation, grinning at everyone like a fool.

He's certainly one in a million, he's my angel.

My dogs are the bestest because they are always there for me, they comfort me and are very undemanding. They're tolerant and flexible, willing to try anything, push themselves to learn new things.

They don't mind too much or make a fuss if I am gone, don't tell me off if I'm late. They're just ecstatic when I return.

They don't get jealous or question me about who I'm giving my attention to. And they all get along and adore each other, like peas in a pod.

They're always cheerful and eager to do whatever I like to do at the time. They're trusting of whatever I have to do with them...grooming or medical needs. They're trusting of others and companionable.

They love my companionship and love....and that is all they ask for besides food and water. They love to go for walks/hikes, but don't demand it. They appreciate chew bones or other toys, but don't demand them. They don't insist on watching the TV show they want to watch. The only thing they ask is that they can sit near or on me. And that's fine with me. They don't have to be invited. Welcoming their company is always on the default. And that hasn't made them spoiled or "dominant." They'll move over or get off when asked.

So, for me, my dogs are a perfect fit. Sure, there are a few little imperfections in their behavior from time to time, but nothing that is very bothersome. And after all, for all they give me, I can let a few things slide. I do not expect robots.

My three are the bestest dogs in the whole wide world simply because they understand me like no ones else. They're so in tune with my emotions & their love for me is so simple & unconditional.

Argon is the best because he's perfect! From the moment I first saw him (and may or may not have blurted out "Oh God, he looks like a praying Mantis!") I knew he was special.
He is the most chill dog ever, never gives me even the slightest attitude or issue. He's happy to snuggle all night long, and get up whenever I feel like it in the morning.
He loves to "Booty Dance" and can entertain my coworkers foreve with one of his shows. He twists his face and body into the strangest positions, then will hold them for you while you laugh.
He doesn't demand anything, and very seldom even asks. He's just happy to be with his mama.
He gets along with everyone, but he is definatly a one person dog, which I've never had before.
